im off to newton rigg on sunday, and the dog is moving into his kennel at college. Iv'e been told the college dosen't allow loose bedding like straw etc. so having bought a kennel mate bed for £45!! he desided it was rather tastey! ive tried tabasco sauce, but its a big bed and only little bottles! ive tried something that was suggested called crib stop, and judging by this mornings layout of the kennel i dont think it works too well! any other suggestions?

good thing im going there! -
my SGC came through the other day so now i can finaly have a go at the crows that are harassing the place, and i wondered... do crows come into pigeon decoys, especially if there are lots of them?

i nipped down to Border gun room this afternoon and picked up a nice AYA yeoman, the usual dints, scratches etc. but shoots fine, with ejectors for a very fair sum i also got 100 cartridges to keep me going, turns out SGC holders over 18 can buy cartridges for me, wich i know plenty of so that shouldnt be a bother. had a quick mooch round the farm and got two bunnies, so im happy with it so far!

right now i think im just going to get something that fits resonably well, flings lead at my quarry and wont blow up in my face so that i can get out and do some shooting, and then i'll take my time looking for something i really like

17 i can still have a gun, but it has to be gifted to me as of the 28th of july, and as no one else in my family shoots, this could get tricky. so im going around all my local gun shops within the next 3 days (including today) i could find the act for you, i'll find it tonight

Today when i arrived home from a 300 mile trip back from the CLA i found an envelope containing my SGC well chuffed!! only to find it accompanied by a letter telling me as of the 28th of july i would no longer be able to buy my own guns & cartridges as im not 18! i waited for ages to send away my SGC cos my dad wouldnt sigh it! and now i have 2-3 days to buy my gun by myslef or it has to be gifted to me! could only really happen to me! has this destroyed anyone else's ideas?

i was reading a terrier book the other day, when it was talking about ratting it mentioned modified strimmers/chainsaws being used as smoke machines can anyone tell me how you make one or were i can get instructions to make one. just curious to see how its done plus, are they any good?

i got one of these boxes that get set off by barking and let off a ultra sonic squek kind of job, i put it in his kennel, worked very well, untill he learn't he could wine and not set it off, but i suppose it is less annoying than barking, i got it for around 25 bar, but its designed for the outdoor so no problems.

i know nothing of coyotes so sorry if im wrong, but surely shooting some to thin the numbers would have the same effect and safe you rearing food for them

BE GENTLE ! im not very knowledgeable of lurchers, yet ! the though was just ticking over in my head, dose anybody use a pure greyhound, from what ive seen most folks dogs have a bit of grey in them, so why not a pure greyhound? and dose anyone use ex-racers? they certainly chase that mechanical rabbit enough to be keen for a real one, or am i thinking from the wrong point of veiw here?

im waiting on my SGC coming through, so naturally im eyeing up guns for sale through no experiance in having shot one, i realy want a S/S, i have no idea why i just think they look so much nicer than chunky O/U's i have used O/U's befor but i just dont like how they look ive been told that a S/S kicks like a mule, not that im to bothered (i may regret ignoring this later) is this true and what are the pro's and con's of an O/U & S/S cheers Rob

ohh well the troubles are over! he has a nice bone to chew on, the cylage is cut so we can go everywhere on the farm not just the same routes, his training is coming on well, hasn't chewed his kennel in weeks, and i have covered past damages 1. so i can keep tabs on whats new & 2. to remove the temptation

hi mate i live just out of laudre so pretty damm close, are you goin to borders? trust me... asking for work, makes it sound like you wanting paid (which i garente you will not happen) which will make anyone you call either say no or be put off instantly. try what i did, gather up some numbers, dont call at a stupid hour, and ask them if you can help/tagg along and who knows you may get a few quid for your trouble but more importantly you get experiance and contacts! (acting like a nonse will not encorage them to let you know the tricks o' the trade) but if your wanting money, get a pape

the corners were a solved problem long ago! metal right angled strips, my original question was how to stop him scratching into the walls! and surly a dog can tell the difference between sumin he can eat and is his and sumin thats not!
-
my lab had/still kind of has the same problem, i've tried legging it the other way when he ignored me and when he starts chasing you turn around and encorage him to you... i have no idea if that is good or bad training but if it gets the desired result in a positive way i see it as alright. anyone feel free to correct me!

if my dog wasn't a puppy and i wasn't going to college i would be very interested!

my 7 near enough 8 month old lab has taken a likeing to wood! all the edges have angling on them, the wire is on the inside of his run, so he has desided to start digging into the walls, and his door! i gave him a branch to munch of for today untill i get down to the butchers tomorow. but what im wanting to know is how i can stop him digging/scratching into the wall & door

i dont have lurchers or terriers... yet! ive only got a good lab and to useless pet spaniels why would it be a bad idea to let police my way know?
-

mine did that, and still dose a bit at 7 months, but only other dogs not his own he gets beta, if that counts as the cheap shit at £30 for a 15kg of puppy im in trouble!

his dad is still quite ouppish at times not just with snow fever (he's hilariouse with snow ) but he has a sertain puppish atitude to him... which i like! i dont know how old he is though at the least 3 but today i did what the book called reverse traning (sit the dog down, give them the dummy, walk away however far & call them to you) out in the open and he did it really well so i gave him a normal retrive which he did very well!
