  3. Rob, How long is a piece of string? If you were invited with someone who owns the sporting rights, and if you meet the age requirement? They could, using the estate rifle caveat in the law, allow you to use their rifle as long as you were being supervised by that person. You can book stalking on many estates and use the "estate rifle", this allows people like you to try before you buy. ft thanks for the help
  4. in the future, im going to buy my self a pup to train from scratch for beating and shooting (we already own a 5 year old spring, who is alright at scurrys but about as steady as jelly! and a 8 year old cocker, but hes gun shy, although he is an incredable hunter, when a phesant flys up from infront of him he just watches it and gets back to work! but theyre both more as pets) i was thinking along the lines of a springer as our family has owned them for 20 years and i would like to carry it on. but what breed would you guys recomend? abd also dose anyone know a way to make a dog un

  10. hello, first of i had NO intention of shooting it! mearly observing and attempting to follow it after petroling the usual rabbit rounds with the air rifle, i spotted a roe buck across the field (big field), so i watched it, it ended up around 20 yards away from me without any bother... as it moved on i desided to try to follow it, after climbing two fences in the proces of covering the open ground it spotted me a trotted away... i was pretty damm pleased with myself.... then it got me thinking, do i need a deer management certificate & a fireamrs license to go with some one who
  11. A distant in law relative is a dog handler with the police. From what I understand he spends a fair bit of his duty time feeding cleaning and training his dog and an easy workload, well paid and with a fat pension after 30 years service. Not exactly what you asked about but something to think about thanks for repling... did he just do his traning through the police?
