dan they might be born ,but they only learn to take to the throat from experance ,i e, geting hurt and then realise its easier to go on the neck ,the deer kick like a mule and can damage a dog when it is on the ground with a hold rather than a neck hold ,

the only way they seem to learn that dan ,was if you take them of where they are and put them on the neck as a reward ,they soon learn that if they are on the neck they can stay there .and it was very thrilling .as you say ,because of the challenge ,only problem is they never retreve them to hand .

it did happen but not that often ,they know their teritory back to front ,so they know where they are going ,unlike a dog that only visits on the odd occasion .after all the deer live there .

im no legend ,dont want to be ,if i did i would fill this site with pics and stories just like MARK BRICK did or write a book ,,some thing i dont do .because it draws attention on your self , and did you ever see scooby run .if not then your at it again ,if you did see him then your entitled to say what you have seen ,thats all .

Why how many neck dogs have you owned. MNany dogs grab the back leg and flick the deer, each will have its own catching skill...... flick the deer ,just how is that done ,i have never seen that happen .please explain . OK pull it down by its legs..... at it again are you.... can i ask , why?? just think before you write ,why did you not just write that instead of flicks ,it is a big difference ,and flicks makes it sound simple to a person not in the know ,it is very misleading ,thats all ,

that is what happens ,people write on a site about some thing they have heard or read about ,rather than seeing it for them selves then commented on it ,and before you know it ,the person or the animal becomes a legend for no other reason . im not jelous of any one , .

neck dogs are few and far between ,90 percent just grab where and when they can ,just like most animals looking for a meal of meat .

dont turn a working dog into a pamperd pooch ,if you keep taking it out its pads will harden up ,then you wont have a problem .just like the people that live in poverty in other countrys ,that cant afford shoes .they dont sit at home ,they get out and keep going .

Hi mate, me and LDR have already discussed next years comp, and theres a good chance it will be invite only and all comments, results, etc, will be kept to PM and not posted on open forum ! It would be a shame if it came to that, but there is just to many who want to drag the comp down. Cheers. invite only .then it wont be much of a comp ,just a few mates on a few nights out , so i dont think it would interest any one ,,just learn to accept a bit of crap and get on with it .next thing will be ,you cant come on this forum unless your a mate .

no walking for me as you can tell by my user name .i sit on my dog untill i find some thing to run then i get of him so he does not have to carry extra weight when running ,i could stay sat on him it would not make any differece ,after all he is a super dog ,with cast iron feet

having the outing on a full moon , you really know the score . lol.and to say it will end up with the best dog on this site

no one in my area has a lamping dog ,i just get half of the welsh valleys out for a weekly jaunt .
