they wont stick around long enough for anybody to get a shot at them, they come in the tail end of a moon normally october them move down south, you will get some new arrivals that are daft and get off with the barneys in october. the pink shooting on solway dnt start till late nov thru till end of season.these birds that are in just now will be seen once then you wont see em again
  7. well personally i would go and have a spy and see what there doing at an hour before this time. if there is a cut field or flattend where they could be feeding then put some deeks down and a bouncer or magnet to draw them in for a shot. but if you have got them coming into a roost wood then i would try that aswel. or put some guns at roost wood and some in field to keep them on the move.
  8. i agree nothing wrong with 2"3/4 42 gram no3 for inland geese. out of interest where are you going shooting? if you go at start of season when the birds are not wary of coming into decoys then use 2"3/4 but if you go round xmas time when the bird might not be as commiting as they would be at start of season then you might want somthing with abit more range 3"or 3.5". stick to 3or4s for better patterns and leave any lead bbs at home. good for the steel as pellet size is whats needed but wouldnt put lead bbs in my car. but i would work with 1/4choke for better patterns.just my opinion mark

  14. nowt wrong with7.5s kent velocity good hard hitting shell. i was dropping them out to 30-35 yard.; only takes one pellet to kill a pigeon

  16. i got in bother a few years back and got chucked in the cells and got a letter through that i had to sign that i was guilty to save a court apperance. but that was [bANNED TEXT] i was young and daft. and didnt put it on my application 4 years ago. bad mistake i had 2 policemen at my house within a week of applying to ask what i was tring to hide. my advise just put anything down that you think might prevent you getting licence including any driving offences. that way the police will look at you as being honest and not trying to hide anything from them
  17. invest on some decoys, net and some poles. far better than hiding under a tree. also if you want to duff rabis then get yersel oot lampin
  18. well i shot one that had came right across the field from another area and its crop was full of softer barley. and think the rest had been feedingwith that one. plenty more fikelds to be cut in this area so will catch up with them at some point. trouble is everytime i go out im a day late and miss the good shooting.
  19. im fairly new to pigeon shooting, got all the gear from magnet, decoys and bouncer. got a phone call fri night to sat that alot of pigeons on field. got there sat morning and was very quiet. how long will pigeons hit a stubble field for? the farmer had lost alot of grain and thats why there was alot on the field. do you need to be on the field straight after its cut to get good bags? the pigeons on sat were just flying straight past our pattern and into a big day roost wood. i cannot work pigeons out one day they are there the next they are gone
  20. looks like we r going for rooks at wk end then
