  1. being a member of the solway secret service i cannot tell you where it is im affraid
  2. you dont need permission off anybody to gain acsess to any merse in scotland.as long as its tidal you are doing nothing wrong
  3. are you for real? there are 20,000 plus barnacles there you disturb them anywhere you go and nobody bats an eyelid
  4. no you will find it use to be an amazing wildfowling spot, you tell me why nothing is done then on the 1st of sept this year it was 30 guns lined out infront of tower shooting at geese out of range leaving wounded birds out on sand. nothing is done. and the shooting on there will eventually be stopped if all these cowboys come up and shoot our marsh to bits on the 1st every year.
  5. how much for benelli? where r these sx3???
  6. disturbing barnacles have you ever heard so much pish in your life, better watch you dont put up the curlews, shellys and other protechted species along the way. its secret service on the solway im affraid, but its always flooded with a###ho### shooting at high birds and ruining our sport.

    duck

    its bismuth and steel shot.
  8. the mossberd 935 is a magnum gun and will be no use for duck or pigeon, unless you want them well tenderised blasting them with magnum shells. ive heard they are a good gun but i think the gun hes after is an all rounder which will cost you money for a decent one, dont forget to add browning to your list, ive got a gold hunter and its pretty much faultless keep them clean and well lokked after and you wont have any problems
  9. kev at tidepool has some new pinkfoot decoys and they look really good
  10. pretty sure if you keep the safe side of the lochar you wont go wrong, right down the strip to the right as you walk on browwell, you can follow the lochar right down and plant your cheeks anywhere you like.
  11. now now ladies. put your dummys back in. BUT,hahahahahah
  12. what joy do you get out of shooting a pheasant on the ground, bit of a joke that. they are bred for rough shooting or driven days, not for some half wit to peer over the hide and blast it on the ground. not very sporting that is it. do you shoot your pigeons on the ground aswell.
  13. come on lads, when beating i assume you use a stick? hold it by the wings and chap it over the head. it kills it instantly. theres nothing worse at the end of the day tying the birds into braces and some idiot has wrung the birds neck and stretched and tore all the skin. bad practice.
  14. so your saying you had a shot at somthing that you had no idea what it was?
  15. if this pond is a day pond then you will have to walk them off for a couple of wks and i would feed little but often so they are in a hurry to get back at night for some grub. thats if you plan on shooting at dusk, which is prob best time to shoot duck, saying that ive never shot a flight pond at first light so it might work. but def better sitting at pond a waiting to see what comes in is a must. i would use the gamebore steel no4 2 3/4they will do the job out to 35-40 yard but wouldnt imagine they will be that far out.
  16. you wont get alot of duck in your pond with beasts in the field, they are prob eating all your feeding. it dosent take much to fill up a small teal if thats all thats coming into your pond i cant see them eating it all in a night depending how much you are feeding them. 7.5 28gram are not a good shell for duck ok for teal but when you start getting mallard in that are going away after first shot, you will just pepper them and they will prob fly off with shot in them. better with 3or4 in steel. just my opinion good luck with your pond
  17. does anybody set up a pattern near fallen beech mast and try and bag a few pigeons? i thought this was a last resort for them in harder weather when food was scarce? but was out a walk with dog today and must have been 100 pigeons sitting feeding on it.???
  18. I know that Lee i spoke to you on the phone a few weeks after if you remember. It just leaves a bad taste when you travel over 600 miles for nothing not even a shot on the geese. I may have a look up on the roe does if you have a few about around the end of november and a duck flight?? its a shame you couldnt tell all your fellow countryman not to bother coming up to scotland, where did you go that you didnt get a shot? I will mate, like you would do the same if you experienced the same... After all the expenses of travel, B & B etc. We were shooting near Saline. We also

  20. what merse do you get flights like that then?
  21. i use to love inland shooting but would know when to stop, what harm would the birds be doing feeding on a stubble they aint causing any damage. go out get a few shots, bag a few and pack up. dont shoot what you cant walk off with. these lads would have needed a small truck to get them birds off.
  22. how many guns were out? sorry to say but thats just slaughter. far to many shot
  23. you should read up on id of quarry and what they sound like before you go back out again and shoot sumit you shouldnt
