  1. Hi we are really looking forward to the show and have invited all the family (that is the lurcher family!) - as it is our boy Rowan's 5th birthday and hopefully some of his littermates will be there too. It would be great if you had a 4 to 6 month puppy class for our new pup, Rowan's son? It's great to be able to take the pups to a show that is not far to drive to. Looking forward to it anyway
  2. On my computer - vista - I do "open with" picture manager and then do "picture" or "tools" "compress picture" and "compress for emails" or something like that then they will load up easy on here (I make a copy first so's not to loose quality of original)- at work it doesn't work like that nd I have no idea! Good luck?
  3. Surely you can tell what its like by the picture, and what lives there... It looks stunning - great country and great looking dog - very jealous here! Of the country - not knocking my dogs!
  4. Hiya lurcher lass Willow (our smooth bitch)and Rowan her son are a mix of whippetbeddygreyhound. Both very fast and good workers only hampered by stupid owner! Willow is a bit more of an independant thinker tho?? Not too hot on retrieving to hand
  5. On their website it says lurcher and terrier show Sunday - do you think there'll be anything on Saturday??
  6. Hey Titchy - was it you who won the kingfisher picture in the Worcester lurcher show raffle? (If you did please don't say it is sh*te cos I did it!!)
  7. Well done Tom with Basil - can't believe he had any energy left We left after the show class - got a bit wet in the sideways rain but was very pleased that Rowan came second to Paul's dog especially as he had his tail tucked under and backed humped against rain the whole time! See you all next year
  8. Hiya - will there be lurcher racing too? Thanks
  9. Had a good day Saturday thanks everyone really nice friendly show - well definately plan for camping next year
  10. I am finding the same with my young dog - thanks for the advice on here - really helpful. I don't know if I am going out too early - keep trying different times between dusk and midnight - not good at going after midnight tho too scared of getting caught I think! Probably just need to get out more but always seems to be something to stop us: cuts, ice, snow, full moons and never any wind it seems in my area! Thanks to that snow I know where the bunnies are now but seem to bump into more foxes than rabbits Hey ho we'll keep trying and like you hopefully will click soon - good luck
  11. Hiya Kev I'm so gutted I can't have one of Gyps pups - they are going to be stunners if they are half as good as her. Rowan isn't as tall or as broad and all we ever manage to bolt is foxes - and I am scared half to death that he'll catch one one of these days - cos I won't know what to do with it!! Has been very enlightening being able to see exactly where the bunnies go in the snow - but have not been able to sneak up on them - our snow is so crunchy We have a rat in our compost bin and they haven't even managed to catch that Poor Rowan would probably be a great dog if he didn't
  12. We had our collie pts this time last year. He started at 1 or 2 years old with occasional fits and no medication then went on to have "clusters" which needed anaesthetic to bring him out of - at that point started giving pheno barbitone. He continued having clusters, to begin with probably one every 6 months but gradually got more frequent. Vet started him on bromide as well. (nearly £50 a month for drugs) Heat seemed to trigger them and over exhertion. By the end (he was 9) he was having a major episode roughly twice a month and taking a week to recover. We couldn't take him on more than hal
  13. Thanks for these - that last coursing pic is my lad, didn't go through though as he missed a gate - oops! Your tent is even cosier than mine - fair play!!
  14. I'm sure they will be beauties and would love one but there's no chance of OH going for it ;o(

    dogs name,

Sounds like a "Beast" to me
  16. I think salty water - 1 tablespoon salt to 1 pint hand hot water I start by disolving in boiled water then top up from tap - then when the dog licks it he is not taking in anything nasty? My dog had wounds like this from hitting a fence when he was a pup - looked real bad but healed no probs. Hope he's feeling better soon
