  7. Used to feed Wainwrights Puppy or Junior -24%Protien but £34 per bag. Local pet supplier asked me to try a small bag of Fellsman (no fancy packaging) as he fed his dogs this. Higher protien content at 26%. Dog likes it better than the more expensive one and only £15 for same size bag.
  8. Will normally give this years young a run out back end of season. Tend to stick to small warrens possibly 3 eyes. I usually let one of my experienced ferrets go through first especially if its the younguns first time down there because its not just rabbits that could be in there.
  9. As often as possible. The more time you spend with them now the greater the benefit when you work them. I handle mine (young and old) every day i can and my daughter handles them daily too. ATB Mick

  14. Hi Max, i tend to do them a bit at a time mainly after having the dog out for a walk, that way it stops me getting bored. I was taught how to make them about thirty years ago but didn't really do many, it was easier buying them. Decided a month ago that i would make some for season coming and although starting and finishing took some effort and practice i found that making the body of the net was easy. Hi 'The One' I timed myself earlier this week and from first starting to put the hemp on the needle to cutting it at the finish it took me 1 hour to get a 3' net so respect to you at half tha
  15. I know there are many ferreters who make their own purse nets and each has their preferred methods and materials. My question is how long, from starting to load the needle to finishing the last knot, does it take to make a net. Lets go for a net three feet long and 16 meshes wide.
  16. Fed dry food(James Wellbeloved at present) to mine for last 10 yrs or so. When i first started with ferrets 30 yrs + ago i fed them what was available, rabbit, pigeon and donations from my dad (he was a butcher). Truthfully i do think they carry a bit more weight eating dry but dont really see any difference when they are working. Benefits of dry food are no smell and no flies. Main drawback is cost - especially if you have a few of the little critters to feed. I think its a matter of personal preference what you feed.
