Creatine is a naturally occurring energy source found in meat, it's not really a drug, more like a nutrient.

The main side effects of long term steroid abuse are osteoporosis and liver failure....there's loads more and they're unavoidable despite what people "who did the door for three years" will tell you...if they were doctors they wouldn't be working the door.

One Stafford and one Bull Terrier so if they tried to catch their own they'd get skinny fast I've not made my mind up and I'll keep an eye out for decent second hand ones within my budget. Off to see my cousin at the gun shop this weekend...he's not sure if he can get a discount but he's going to ask. -

I haven't been over there yet, I'll have a look this weekend if I get time. -

Yeah, I reckon so but if I can get some permission on the land around here I reckon it will be worth it in the long run...50 kilos shouldn't be too tricky going by the amount of rabbits around here. It's also for a but of fun and pest control but I'd like it to pay for itself in the long run. I'll still be feeding a mix of meats and I know that rabbit is very low in fat so I'll keep it 50/50 mix at the most. I haven't got a mincer at the moment but I can get one fairly cheaply. -

I've checked the bank account and it just won't stretch to that Webley at the moment, I'm hoping it's still there in a week or two. For me it's almost entirely a financial decision because I'm buying it to provide food for my dogs and I'm paying £1.75 a kilo at the moment for minced chicken so I'm gonna need to bag over 100 kilos of rabbit/pigeon before it pays for itself compared to about 50 kilos for the cheaper one...I know it's an odd way of looking at it but that's the situation. -

The two above reviews sound very good. The Webley is a bit far away from me so would need delivery (I'm in Essex) but it looks nice and I've read some good reviews on it...how much are they new? -

I have a cousin that's just started working in a gun shop so I'll give him a ring. He's not too far from me. -

I'd prefer a new gun if possible, purely because I don't know what I'm buying and I could end up with a useless piece of crap having paid too much for it. -

What about the lower end stuff? I've been told you can buy springers from around £ although I didn't actually check if that was new or used...DOH! -

What are the main differences? I only had a very brief conversation and I think I should have questioned a bit more. They said something about them being slow to reload and that wasn't good for rabbits. -

I really don't know I'm afraid but I'm guessing £100-£200??? basically as low as I can get away with without it being a load of old crap. Maybe when I get into it more I might trade it in for something better. I've only looked into springers at around £-£100 but I've been told that they're not really suitable for rabbits. -
I'm thinking about getting an air rifle, mainly for pigeon and rabbits to provide food for my dogs and maybe myself. I'm prepared to start off with something basic as I'm on a tight budget - it will have to pay for itself in meat for my dogs so the cheaper the better as long as it does the job well enough. Please keep the technical terms to a minimum or add an explanation as this is all new to me at the moment. Thanks in advance.

What type of hound x is it? Some hounds are meant to yap.

Because the dog is a pack hunter yapping is just the dog trying to communicate with other members of the pack to give it some help...call it frustration if you like but that's where it comes from. Breeding has done alot to eradicate it from dogs that hunt in a solitary way but you're up against what is a very natural instinct.

That's a fine selection of pyjamas bottoms you have there Dan.

Depends how they interpret the wording 'Pit Bull type'...that could mean just about anything. It's a grey area.

There's millions of the feckers around here but it's all council land so no hunting. -
Lure machine how much would you be doing a week
hogdog replied to graham4877's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I own a lure machine and use it occasionally as a bit of fun and a bit of exercise for the dogs, if I had the time I'd like to get out a couple of times a week with friends and maybe run 10 runs a time but I don't really see it as great exercise or prey drive encouragement for the dogs, I do it because they enjoy it and so do I. Oddly enough the running dogs aren't normally as keen as most other breeds and I've seen some great coursing dogs refuse to chase the lure. The running dogs will normally do it with enthusiasm but aren't quite as crazy as the terriers who want nothing more than to -
It's probably just irritation from something, nettles, thistles etc. My dog did this when it was a pup (about the same age), he went absolutely mental and was chewing it them quite badly. The only thing you can do is toughen the pads up, that obviously happens over time but you can use TUF PAD or similar to help them along the way.

They're not really powerful enough, you'll need at least 250 watts (depending on length of run and a few other things) and they don't make them that powerful. A cordless drill motor is better suited but you need to match the spool size to the speed of the motor.

Although i can see what your saying, it depends how you use the collar. The one im using has different levels of shock, If you read the instructions and use it as stated then it shouldnt have the outcome your saying. I put it on the lowest setting that got a reaction from the dog, more of an irritant than anything else. Press it then call the dog, when he starts returning leave go. Eventually the dog will learn that coming towards you is a good thing that gets rid of the irritating feeling. And realistically this is what you are looking for, the dog to see copming back to you a good thing. Onc

Trust me on this one, you're the problem, not the Dog. The very basics of recall is that you never, ever punish a Dog for returning to you, I shouldn't have to explain why. You've immediately created a problem that you may never be able to correct. When a Dog returns to you...no matter how long it's been away or how frustrated you are you must make a fuss of it and reward it for returning. getting angry with a Dog is just going to make training it harder and more frustrating. Don't get rid of it and get another Dog until you've learned how to recall because you'll probably end up
