  1. Gareth Davies of HeolyBwlch gundogs charges £70 or a week. Top bloke very helpful and knows his stuff. Thanks pal, thats cheaper than i thought will look him up.
  2. I have a 12 month old springer that i have been training this year, unfortuantly due to getting layed off at work ive had to take a job with longer hours, this means when i go out and get in its dark, ive done a bit of training in the dark but its not easy. I could do with sending the dog to a trainer to be finished/brought on for a couple of weeks. Does anyone know what prices i would be expecting to pay for this? Many thanks Steady.
  3. I was talking about lure coursing What do you want a saluki for? just a pet? Good luck with whatever desicion you make and keep us informed!!!
  4. Just got off the phone to a good coursing friend of mine who said he would match his UK KC saluki dog against any new import, the few true coursing lines in the uk are more than capable for coursing, faster than desert bred dogs with enough stamina, he even recently exported a couple of pups to Dubai after a buisness-man flew over to watch them run in lincs.
  5. JPT Did you ever manage to swap your patterdale for a car? cos you were bored with it and wanted to drive? ive got a pretty nissan micra?
  6. No, and neither would mine, but its the unpredictability of the not knowing what might happen. Yep I agree with you just dont like some people who have savage, under socialised dogs using the fact that they work as an excuse.
  7. My dogs would respond if attacked, but not if a loose dog just comes up sniffing/barking.
  8. you are full of shit get out there and work your dogs instead of talking pish Im sure my dogs get worked a hell of a lot more than yours pal, just look how often your on here!!!! im retired now so dig to the dogs at least 5 days a week
  9. Right, then you should know about pack behaviour then, especially in hunting dogs. (Not all dogs love eachother). I've run a small pack of patt's, very well socialised, but if a stranger starts then its a pack effort to kill it. Its hassle to have strange dogs just come over, especially when you have dogs that are born killers. If you knew about pack behaviour then you would understand that if you are the alpha male you are incharge of your pack, my dogs snap at other dogs, but if i tell them to stop, they stop, or are made to stop.
  10. Why not try and socialise your dogs properly? I have had working patts, fells, lakelands all fine with other dogs.
  11. Yep and the feathering round the ears will slow the dog(greyhound?!?) down, nostrils too big, will fill up with dust and eyes are too dark!
  12. Sorry got my maths wrong...............£60 in twelve weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats well worth spending my whole life on a website! what will i go for first? private jet or yacht? any suggestions?
  13. Swap it for a car like your other dog. a good one will run for years
  14. i've got a beddy what i take lamping and he does catch one or two rabbits on the lamp, he's a bit on the leggy side at 18 half inches. i am a bit selectful where i take because i dont think he would catch anywhere, he also bushes and rats. I have a cocker that catches on the lamp, jumps through cover after rabbits, catches in the hedge, will put up a vid next season.
