  1. Nice read, nice gun. Why do you use a dampa on that Prosport?? What kinda scope is it you use?
  2. Wel, 5millimeter can make the difference Couple days ago I made the perfect headshot with the .177 97k at 15 yards on a woody.... Shot the under part of his beak off, tracked it the whole day long, nothing to find. This morning I made a walk around the field with the dog and found that pigeon roosting with thick feathers and shaking all over in the midlle of a birch. Back home I took the HW90 .25 with a barracuda 31grain and posed under that tree 10 minutes later, it took just a second at 12 feet to turn the woodys light out. Did I feel good after i did that.... absolutly not,
  3. Country ferals are good to eat. You can always examen eyes lungs and the liver of the beast, it says a lot about the health of the bird. When you open the crops of ferals at wintertime, you can also have a view at their feeding habits.
  4. Just curious, is the grey squirrel population spread all over the island? Scotland, Ireland?
  5. Not really the FX, but the closest family maybe? Webley Axcor or the Logun Solo? I had them both, axcor 8 shot with 28 footpound and the Solo single shot 26 footpound. Deadly accurate and good triggerd guns Put one of the aftermarket regulators in it and you have 35 good shots. If I had to choose an FX it would be the Gladiator double air.

21 was my highest number for magpies, and that was becouse I was on the right spot when they came flying in for roosting The highest by daylight was 5
  7. A friend of me is using it on the Hunter field target range, a HW97k .20 <12footpound. He is almost unbeatable in the springer class. I had the occasion to use it once on a rabbit hunt, rabbits knocked over very easy up to 50 yards, very accurate and a lot of punch with the Barracudas. My formal Falcon skeleton .20 was also very accurate, 24 footpound and usefull for every kind of vermin, also very accurate and a very flat trajectory. At the moment I have the HW90 .20, it serves me very wel,l, a real rabbit and rat slayer with his 22 footpound.

Loads of them in my area, fascinating creatures. This is a hazelworm
  9. Nothing wrong with the glass imo, good bag
  10. Paint it! I did it to all my guns in combination with McNett tape and its very effective
  11. MkII .22 with a 500cc bottle, 32 shots/48ftlbs.
  12. Order a venom kit en upgrade that gun yourself if youre a little bit handy, I did it many times, its no rocket science. http://www.severi.be/airgunning/HW97K%20strip.htm
  13. ever thought on something inbetween? Logun Solo .22 for example? relative cheap for what it is, an accurate, very consistent and reliable gun. Loads of shots, short, and a beauty to look at. Just my two pence.
  14. HW90 would be my advice, very predictable two stage Elite trigger. I understand it have to be a sub 12ftlbs gun... maybe its a better idea to buy yourself that Pro-sport as the HW90 is made for Fac and + 18ftlbs.
  15. I got the figures from FAC airguns that I have and had, shooting them over (different) chrono's-chrony's. (I live in Belgium, without airgun and pellet energy limits) You are right about the quote, but it was not meant to do you or other people harm. Its just that people blind take over the factory specifics as the truth, that makes me a little.. ,(also that stupid youtube vids makes them dreaming..) it makes a lot of people loosing the earth under their feet (and buying the wrong gun) Thats why I quoted it, to put things right. After reading it all over I understand your. , sorry for th
  16. I always use this on my guns, after a while it becomes a bit sticky, but that's ok, it gives you a better grip on the gun. http://www.mcnett.com/Camo-Form-Camouflage-Wrap-C91.aspx
  17. I want to see that on a chrono mate A Hatsan (or a Gamo) at 30 yards on a boar is playing with your life. I had a Hatsan125 to try out, .25, did 28ftlbs on the chrono. The Gamo 1250 .22 that me brother had for a while, runs 19ftlbs. When you shot it, it almost jumped out of your hand! These guns are just good enough to plink bottles at 20 yards, and the only thing you can kill with it, are your scopes
  18. Nice guns these HW90's, own a .22 too. Mine is a FAC and gives me around 20ftlbs with the gasram pumped at 23Bar. Very good hunting tool, very accurate and trusty. Shot hundreds of feral pigeons with it, also a lorryload of rabbits. It never failed on me.
  19. Nice big animals those groundhogs, Can you eat them or is is the meat not worth preparing? How it taste?

  21. I like that Kelpie cross mate, Kes looks very keen and promising. Looks like a nice day out
  22. I always try to place my chest shots from aside, or in the back, above the wing base. most of the time they drop without a flap Shooting a fac airgun in .177 (18ftlbs) also helps
  23. Its nice to try to be the most correct airgun hunter mate, but there are people who know how to shoot (potshots). http://www.100mairgun.nl/category/Wedstrijdresultaten.aspx The winner in the "springgun" class, was a guy with a un tuned Webley patriot. I used to use my HW100 and Typhoon that day.
  24. If you are a little bit of a handy man, you can do it yourself. Most springers are easy to work on, found this exploded view on the net, you just have to download it, its maybe one step further in the proces http://www.airrifleshop.co.uk/Airgun%20manuals.htm
  25. [quote name='bullmastiff' date='Feb 28 2009, 01:12 AM' post='935269' Just a quick question for the guy's who are shooting quarry at 60-70-80yds, I presume your not using rangefinders (as their quite expensive) to get the range of the shot quarry, so do you carry 100yd tape on you whilst out or are you just counting your paces??? If you practise long enough on targets at different ranges, there's no need for a range finder if you know your gun, you'r scope- and how to use the mildots-, the field your hunting on........ I took lots of bunny's at 60 yards with my formal 97k .177 (14ftlbs
