  1. i bet theres a few of you out there who use the mk3, what do you think of it, im tempted to buy one, id just like to know how good they are
  2. Nice Pics TJ, how sad does your other dog look? I hope he's soon fit and well!
  3. 3 of us headed along the East Coast tonight for a spot of lamping, armed with a 20g o/you beretta, a Theoban rapid 7 (f.a.c) 35 ft lbs and the old faithfull HW90, so feeling a bit underpowered against these big boys, the HW90 stayed in the bag We were going on some acres of wheat stubble, dry with quite a strong coastal wind sweeping across the fields and the moment we pulled on the first field, we knew this could be a good night. The rabbits were out in there dozens,so we decided to park the jeep up and walk the edges against the headgerows knowing that the rabbits dont seem to venture
  4. Im the same, the last time i ferreted rats, it was from under an old garage base, we sent in two jills and a hob just to flush them out to waiting terriers. They did the job well, but i jill failed to come out for over an hour. When she finally came out, she needed a trip to the vets to be stitched up, she took one hell of a kicking whilst under there. From now on, i tend to stick to the rabbits
  5. There proberly the nicest looking ferrets ive seen, i just love silvers. I got my first pair of silver mitts this year after a few years of looking. Very nice Could the colours on these change as they get older?
  6. I went in my shed to feed mine last night, and they all came out there nest to meet me exept one 15 week old hob, i looked in the nest and i saw him laid out and looking close to death i picked him up and he was "twitching" slightly, i laid him on the floor whilst i fed the rest, and about 3 mins later, picked him back up but he was just lifeless almost looked dead.....and then he yawned, looked across, saw the food and ran to the pot to eat . Little bugger was asleep all the time
  7. Because its interesting, I enjoyed reading it
  8. Fantastic read and pictures, All the rabbiting land we have is still too overgrown yet to have a good day, but i cant wait until the frost comes and kills a bit of greenary off
  9. I purchased a MK1 deben locater from the said auction site with collar for about £58 plus p+p A bargain i thought. I saw one also for sale the other night, He'd put that it cost £120 to buy new, and some numpty had bidded £122 for it plus about £8 P+P?? I think buying them new is proberly the best idea, at least this way you know it all will work fine.
  10. Fantastic band, i have loads of there albums. I prefare the later stuff, the earlier songs were a bit too physcadellic for me
  11. Brilliant pics mate, And a good number of rabbits too, Good to see a bit of ferreting going on again
  12. Nice going mate, Im looking forward to it myself now
  13. I must be lucky, Ive never had a collar come off yet, but its true about adding a couple more holes. And even when ive had collars on young ferrets hunting for the first time, they never seemed to be too bothered by them, they just get in and do there stuff!

    Gordon Ramsay

I once delivered to a pig slaughter house, and been in a lorry, i could see into the slaughter area and they were slaughtering the same way, exept- the blood was a drain that some guy stood on whilst necking them, and most of the blood just poured all over this guy. and it stunk like hell!
  15. what a responce! cheers guys, im onto it now.
  16. I have some long nets, but no stakes. Were would i buy some of these from, or if i was to make some, what would they need to be like?
  17. Normally just have 2 jills and 1 hob for rabbiting, but this year, the breeding plan went well, so im going to have a few more to try out this time around. First of all my albino jill, drops 7 kitts, sold 6 and kept just 1 sable jill. Then purchased o couple of silvers, ive been after some of these for years And just when i thought thats it for breeding........ More kitts!! Still, ive a big enough 'shed' to home them all in
  18. Im hooked on it, Its a good programme, Though after watching it, i realised that, i would Never work on a trwler in sea's that bad!
  19. Ive seen this problem on a mates ferret, he used cotton buds with dipped in some ear cleaning ointment that kills mites and this soon cleared the problem up. Ill try to find out what this was and ill let you know.

    Myxy

There's fields were, one year you might see quite a bit of myxy amongst the rabbits and the next year-not so much. but ive also seen were it looks like they have recovered from it, but they say that most rabbits cant survive it, so im not sure weather the scars are from something else?

    Myxy

Im not far away from you, and were we hunt for rabbits around Hornsea, Skipsea, area, we still see loads of myxy amongst rabbits here. I hate seeing it, rabbits just sat blind on the roadside waiting to die
  22. You cant beat letting a ferret have a bit of extra space to explore, i turned half my shed into one big cage! Not the best pic to describe it, but 8ft x 4ft to themselfs keeps them happy
  23. Dont worry about it, you will find that jills will tend to loose fur, either when mated or in this heat that were having at the moment. And the fur goes a shade lighter, When the fur starts to lengthen again, the colour will come back. I promise!
