    NEW BABY BOY

Nice pup, how is he bred ? oops Congratulations, , like others have said treasure every moment and always have a camera with you because before you know it he will be grown up and you will be a grandad.
  2. Think this pic is a little better. atb.
  3. Whats the point, can see pre ban but not now. One other point, these dogs still have growing to, might be ok on smaller stuff now but when fully grown?
  4. Lucky enough to work for myself from home, so got plenty of time with her.
  5. Shes a patterdale, coming up for 9 months, so both still pups.
  6. Nice pups and a decent price, bred proper and for the right reasons. atb
  7. Cheers for all the comments, well pleased with her progress so far. Good luck with the pups Merle
  8. Ask your vet why he/she thinks you need grains in your dogs diet, because you don't.
  9. Good question mate, the b**tard who had her said deerhound x greyhound but suspect a bit of beardie in there as well but to be honest will never know.
  10. Cheers mate, taken her a week to "play" in the garden and now fine in house as well, outside its a different kettle of fish. The patti is not firing on all cylinders as she has had part of her hip removed and only hobbling about for at least another 6 weeks.
  11. Had her a week now. She is apx 8 months old and not had a great start in life. Starting to come out of her shell now but still very very timid and nervous.

  14. You and your dad sure seem to "breed" or should I say FARM a lot of dogs.
  15. RAW mate For recipes http://rawfeddogs.net/Recipe/List UK advice http://www.ukrmb.co.uk/showcontent.toy?contentnid=175912 and http://www.ukrmb.co.uk/showcontent.toy?contentnid=175913 and to counter some of the crap put out by the petfood companies and most vets http://www.rawfed.com/myths/index.html
  16. Follow the link below, look in section B for DdB, and you'll see that at least one DdB has actually scored 0 on its hips. Going to "shut up shop" now?? http://www.bva.co.uk/public/documents/CHS_...Mean_Scores.pdf However, with a breed mean score of 23, your dog's score of 12 is fine but I can't see any justification for not scoring your bitch. The link you put up just shows what the BMS score for each breed should be ??? and nothing else, Theirs never been a dog born with 0 hips never mind a Ddb Now Elbows yes my dogs elbows were 0 Still waiting for a reply to "If you
  17. If you bred the best, then your bitch would have a score, like the other pups bred in wales which are for sale from an accredited breeder who has to provide scores. You are quick to quote what a great dog the stud is, so whats wrong with your bitch?
  18. Didn't say they don't need iron. Too much iron can cause problems (as well as too little). I also said that given a decent diet dogs shouldn't need supplements

    Books

Just been on amazon looking at lurcher, terrier and general dog books Most have either no or few reviews so hard to decide whether a book is good or not. What books would you recommend?
  20. Not a good idea. If the dog is getting decent food it shouldn't need any supplements. Multi vitamins for humans are exactly that FOR HUMANS........ Most multi vits contain iron (for example) which can cause big problems for dogs, also remember that initially there may be no observable side effects, but over time the ingredients could build up in the dog. Vitamins C, A, B6 and D can all cause toxicity in dogs. So once again, NO, not a good idea.
  21. I reckon it's always a good idea to put up the parents' health tests results. Not too sure what the recommended ones are for DdB - hips at the very least I imagine, and probably elbows too? Storms Hip score was 12 and his elbows 0 they don't come any better than that. cheers and the dam's scores? Mums got no problems with hips or elbows she moves two well and when you know about these things you can spot a dog with a problem straight away, it not rocket sience i've worked dogs and bred them over 30 years (she's sound) how are you? What a bloody stupid answer. Just shows h
