    Best out 5 rabbits hardly a test of a dog now is it.20 rabbits each or 2 hours lamping still not a test but a better comp would be had.

    If you want a pup for mainley pushing fox for lurchers id go beagle.for rabbits id go spaniel.

    If its just bunnies your after ferreting and lamping id go for something like a saluki/Whippetxcolliey/grey would be my idea of a rabbit dog.

    How much that cost you ?it cost me a fair few pound on concerete to raise the back to get a good flow for drainage done alot of work myself.around 3000 worth every penny.

    I have them and the ones I keep are good but I often reared a bad one as well,so I would say they are much the same as anything else.some great some useless,some average.breeding is everything as with all working dogs.if your spaniel in the cross barks it is a help because a fair few springer beagles have poor or no voice even if hunting well,but when you get a good one with the drive for cover and voice they are hard to beat,most are easier to control than pure hounds,have more of a brain and search cover better but would not hold a line cross country as well as a hound.they are ideal for hun

    Met a young lad this morning out with his two russells and a shovel.he must of been 14 great to see.i started out on my own and still do a lot of my hunting on my own.

    As been said dont let it hunt with a lurcher to much at a young age it will think thats what it is ment to do and wont no any better.get the dog out on its own first light as there will be game about and plenty of scent to get the pup intrested.get it out with other bushers aswell to show it the ropes.the more time you spend 1 on 1 the better the dog will be.
