thanks for the replys lads and yes theres nothing better than watching lurchers and terriers work as a team its the best form of hunting for me anyway great craic allso. but ye are mistaken my question which is whats the best breed terrier 2 sound on rabbit and fox above gound. cheers ATB.MC

The reason for this is that they are now seasoned rabbits which are left, and not young imature flyers. They would rather get down in the stop end and kick the shit out of the ferrets rather than bolt and risk there life to that mad hairy thing waiting at the entarance... well said mate but there allso trying 2 protect there young from the ferrets. nice catch by the way. i like the look of your lurcher whats the breeding in him mate.

well lads i do alot of bushing and i really like a terrier 2 sound on its quarry as it gives the lurcher a heads up 2 were its going 2 bolt from.i have a border lakie and 2 russels d 1 russel is mute the other only sounds when close 2 its quarry.border lakie is a great sounder starts d minute he comes on a strong scent my mates smooth fox terrier allso ndoes this but the rest of his are mute aswell. so whats the best terrier you have had 2 sound on rabbit and fox above ground without beagle and sprinnger blood in them.

spot on mate some people on here. tommo he said when lamping not lamping in a warm night fair enough in a warm night i will give her a drink out of a troft but other than that they dont get water and they dont need water cause there fit and can cope.they get water when we get back 2 the jeep while im gutting and skinning and sometimes they dont drink it.if ye have 2 give yer dogs water and recharge after a couple of hours lamping then your dogs overweight and unfit

I have read alot on whippets on this site and they get alot of bad press off folk on here like they shiver they tear 2 easy .they have bad feet. no stamina. 2 light 2 small .the list goes on. well heres my whippet no world beater but a good dog 2 1/2 years old he bushes like a terrier at times. hits the ditch on the lanp has run on stubble fields plenty of times has bags of stamina.he hit a dyke 1 nite i thought he was dead only for him 2 pop up with d rabbit in his mouth.he was probly over worked this season with me having no work and all that.and he hasnt had 1 injury yet feel free 2

shes a nice bitch pal.the whippet is mainly a feereting and bushing dog and hes good at it.the red bitch is a real gem at everything. thanks lads for all the comments.im from cork bud. only just got a camera so i will have lots of pics of them working up next season bud.ATB MC.
