  1. My mate has put his gun through the crono and it's putting out 11.9fts. A bit close to comfort in my opinion.
  2. If you where out shooting and you came across the police, do they automatically have the right to confiscate your rifle for no given reason? Would they need a warrant to take the rifle in order to test its power. My mate had some trouble with the cops whilst out shooting and the copper said if he sees him again, even though he was on private land, he will take his rifle for testing. Surley the cops have no right to do this?
  3. How do I get my 22lr rifle granted for vermin shooting aswell as target. What are the costs ect? Thanks
  4. Where can I buy 44/40 rounds? I'm looking at getting a lever action rifle. Thanks
  5. He isn't applying for a FAC, read my first post. He is applying to join a rifle range and they will preform a standard police check. It's just to make sure he isn't a prohibited person i.e: been in prison for more than 5 years. He wishes to join as what's called a probationary member-you don't need a FAC for this.
  6. I'll speak to the range manager about it on saturday.
  7. This is just the clubs standard check to make sure he is not a prohibited person. Surley a racist remark wont owneing firearms? Granted he is a racist, but not a violent yob. At the end of the day they where only words.
  8. On his application form it asks whether he has a criminal record. I thought a caution wasn't a criminal record.
  9. A friend want's to start up in cowboy action shooting and is getting ready to apply the range I'm a member of. He will need to join as a probationary member as he does not have a FAC, however he will need to pass a Police Clearance and he's worried as he has a Police caution. I'm not sure of the actual charge, but he had been making racist remarks to someone. Not nice by any stretch, but not the end of the world either! He reckons it won't show up as it's not a criminal record but I said I would ask for him. You know what the Plod can be like.
  10. I had a look for 'The Hunters Secrets' on the web, but I couldn't find anything Getting the kill was great.
  11. I've just finished watching "Getting the Kill" by John Darling. What a great man. Did he make any more DVD's as I thought getting the kill was great? I know he died a few years ago though
  12. Since pigeons take less killing than rabbits, would using lighter pellets extend my range and give flatter trajectory? Alrighteee EDIT: I mean 'light' in title.
  13. Not for loving? How dare you! LOL Anyway, John Darling, If I remember correctly, used a Theoben Rapid and he always spoke highly of it. There was a review not too long ago in Sporting Rifle Magazine and it mentioned problems with the trigger.
  14. Yes considering you could be paying not shy of £1000 for some Theobens they do seem to be lacking. Allot of people think the trigger is crap they don’t have quick fill or pressure gages even those these are not essential they still would be nice, and they are on guns half there price. Totally over rated In my opinion. atb bedrock I have a recently aquired s410 in .22 and love it. I think I'm just falling in love with Theoben rifles for the wrong reasons, looks. The s410 is great within 40 yards and I'm glad I choose it over the .177.
  15. No particular model but the make as a whole. Theoben are far more expensive than AirArms, but are they better in terms of accuracy? Theoben are known as the Rollys Royce of Airguns and AirArms produce the most popular guns in terms of value for money. I never handled a Theoben so I can't really comment. The Rapid MK2, does look stunning though
  16. What rifle was it? Did you have a FAC for it? Good shot anyway, 70 yards needs a keen eye and a steady hand, that's for sure
  17. What caliber? I would say 70 yards is pushing it IMO, but if you did it then congrats.
  18. I brought the Air Rifle to use around the stables so I guess 50 yards is not really an option. After a little sport yeserday I realised most of my shooting will be done between 20-30 yards and not 50.
  19. I'll improve my stalking skills then LOL I have made the right choice by going with a .22 for Pigeon? It seems the better hunting caliber IMO. Cheers
  20. You could try giving yourself written permission . . . Ric
