  1. I'm finding my BSA XL has to much recoil. How can I minimise this. Differen't grip prehaps?
  2. I normally head the letter with 'I'm gunna make you an offer you can't refuse!' It works well. PS On a serious note, don't send letters. Go and see the landowner direct.
  3. I'm looking for a budget scope and mount for my HW95. I wan't something that will work well, but I don't need any frills, nor do I wan't a peice of crap. Any reccomendations.
  4. Check out BenTaylor. He reckon's .20 is king.
  5. I have spring pest control. Not bad. I liked the bit when he was shooting ferals in the barn.
  6. Yes pal, exactly! I should have known better. I should have just left the bloody rabbit to be honest. It was just a lapse of safety on my behalf. He had ran down the back of the bank and behind the hedge. He was hit in the paw, shoulder and leg. No bones were broken and some of the shot had bounced of him. It was about 15 yards range. It should never have happened but it could have been a lot worse.
  7. I'm not sure but different rules may apply to shooting ducks with airguns. I knew a bloke who used to control the Mallard popuilation with FAC air.
  8. I don't really wan't to go into to much detail but my dog picked up a few pellets in his paw and leg. A badly wounded rabbit had run down a slope and escaped into a hedge. I couldn't get to it so I could either leave it or end its suffering there and then. There was no way I oculd retrive it as the slope was too sharp and the hedge too thick, plus it was p-ing it down. I decided to re-shoot it, but unkowningly my spaniel had somehow got down there and gone round the back of the hedge. His working days are now sadly over, but he's still a much loved and cherished family pet. Just be safe fo
  9. I'd just like to remind everyone to always be as safe as possible. LG
  10. Any good DVD's out there? What are the Total Airgun Hunting series like? Cheers
  11. How many yards can a .22 pellet travel before it starts to fall? How does it match up to .177? Cheers.
  12. I can't decide between a HW80 or tx200, both in .22. Any help lads?
  13. So, what's your preferred choice for Pheasant this year? What brand/load are you using. I'm using 32g black gold in no.5 and it's working very well. LG
  14. It's best you let him choose his own gun as it's a very personal choice. It's like buying a shotgun, if you wan't to get on with it then it must feel right. Maybe a few books or a DVD, or both. John Darling wrote an excellent book. I base how I hunt on his book.
  15. Yes, it's legal. If you have the premission to do it and you will eat the quarry, go for it. LG
  16. Cheers lads. The Theoben Evo has caught my attention, although I'm still weighing up my options.
  17. It's not for my taste that's for sure, and thankfully I only shoot for the pot, so I don't shoot for pest control. I know many shooters don't like shooting does laiden with young, John Darling didn't, but are there any ways to avoid it? Are there any tell-tale signs of what to look for? John Darling once said he only shot the grazers, whatever that meant. Cheers, LG
  18. Are the BSA springers any good? The supersport or lightning? PS Why is THL running so slow tonight?
  19. I'm looking for a good value, accurate springer in .22. Any suggestions? Cheers EDIT: Typo
  20. I'd have thought .20 caliber would have really took off.
  21. usually 5 yrs for a surface bottle,i pay £40 at my local dive shop Is this required by law?
  22. Do you have to get a visual and hydrostatic test done every 3 years on your divers bottle? I heard it's like £100. Cheers
  23. You can pick up 500 JSB .20 pellets for less than £10. About the same as good .22 pellets. I predict that in a few years the .20 will be the most popular caliber in sub 12ftlbs, if all airguns don't require a FAC by then.
