  1. Hope your first day went ok, sometimes worriyng about things beforehand make things seem worse that what they actually turn out. Also, i think if you have not been used to mixing much with people in a work environment much recently, since you gave up your job, you lose the social skills of chatting and just generally getting along with others, especially people you are meeting for the first time. You are so young with so many options, look around - you may see something else you could see yourself doing to earn your crusts....
  2. Glad to hear you wee boy got his dogs back. Parhaps the sh**ebags who stole them got wind of what was coming their way if they didn't turn up
  3. Are you not embarrassed to admit to that?
  4. Hey Magpie - are you running for election?
  5. I went to see a live show of that Derek Acorah bloke with a mate of mine last year in Belfast. I'd never heard of him before, I just went because my mate wanted to go. I can say it was S"$&* of the highest order.
  6. Black Bush Irish Whiskey. The smell of horses warm breath when they have been eating grass.
  7. Your'e worried because these dimwits have dogs? I find it even more frightening that they probably have kids.....EEEK!!!!!! What does the future hold?
  8. I think anyone who lets ANY dog run out of control, especially in such a public place as a beach in summer, is irresponsible. So the dogs allegedly ripped up a poodle (some may snigger that the likes of poodles deserve to be ripped up, each to their own) but what would peoples attitude be if it were a herd of sheep with lambs that the hyped up dogs ripped into, or worse still someones child? Don't say that could never happen - we all know that it has......
  9. FAO ZEK That big grey wiry dog is a deerhound. Iv'e seen him walking near where I live. Handsome big dog.
  10. My terrier ate the wooden legs of my kitchen table- had to buy a metal one after that!
  11. And the moral of the story.......Keep away from lions.
  12. I would say he looks as if he has a broken coat. You say he is a full bred JRT - do you mean pedigree as in registered with the Kennel Club?

I was there on Thursday - gundog day. I know very little about gundog breed standards but as a dog owner, I would have called some of the Labradors on display 'on the fat side'. There was a much more althletic version in the Field Trails display arena - it was able to jump over a hurdle, i'm not sure the specimens in the breed show rings would have though.
  14. Rollin' Stones Album - Bigger Bang Track - Laugh, I nearly died.
  15. My terrier bitch broke her hock when a pup. It was put in a spint (which she successfully removed every few days) and she was pretty much immobilised in a cage for several weeks. She healed very well, I think because she was young and her bones were still growing very actively. She is fine now, sometimes she 'skips' a bit behind, the way some terriers do, so maybe she is a bit arthritic, but generally it does not hold her back. She is five yers old now. Hope your dog does well too.

Is there really any need for that?

Some people have very rude porno-style avatars. Anyone find that more objectionable than the photos of foxes and deer etc?
  18. Try Otex from your local chemist - if it does the job for human ears, surely it's safe enough for the dogs. Never did mine any harm.
  19. To add a positive slant - if you get rid of one you lessen the chance of the mare getting pregnant and then you'll end up with three! Good luck with your decision, I know it's got to be a hard one.
  20. Don't forget that horses are naturally herding animals. If you get rid of one, the other may be very lonely if it was used to having company and may be miserable, especially if you don't, as you say, have much time for them.
  21. I think anybody who dosen't clean up after their dog is a birty B%*#*&! Have you ever been in a public place (most places, we're all members of the public, after all) and seen a child with it's clothes, shoes or hands covered in dog shite while the parents try to calm them down and wipe it off - disgusting! Gives everyone with a dog a bad name in my opinion! Also the people who walk the streets at night with their dogs and think that just because it's dark, their dogs can't be seen fouling the footpath and then just walk away leaving a steaming pile? Sorry to rant about this one
  22. Love the look of those terriers. How do you find all the bitches get on together. My jack russell terrorist bitch is a real sweetheart - 100% with people and most dogs but if there is a 'set-to' it is usually with another bitch.
  23. That looks like a right basket load of mischief!
  24. Great pictures - looks like a good walk out on a crisp day. When the falcon catches the prey is it easy to get it to let go again without the prey getting ripped up? Would there ever be a danger of the falcon getting grabbed by the dogs in all the excitement of the chase? For example does the bird stay on the ground with the catch? If your dog does not respond to your recall could it turn into a disaster for the bird?
