When politicians make these type of statements, I always imagine them to be addressing other members of the club. So in this instance Cameron would be re-assuring the soon to be hammered insurance companies (banks) that they will be reimbursed handsomely from the public purse. The lads can go barefoot for all he cares.

You mean Iceland that already had a currency of it's own and now no-one will lend to them without crippling concessions also they have the credit rating of a dole dossing smack rat I vote yes! Give Scotland it's independence we'll keep the debt and the pound you can take f**k all go it alone and in 5-10 years time go begging to Brussels You miss the point, they said no to the too big to fails, they retained their sovereignty. 2% unemployment and debt free, hardly 'smack rats' I agree but tell th

What I mean is, if Scotland were to become truly sovereign and issue their own currency, f*ck the parasite central bankers out of it, I would be cheering from the rafters for them. It's what we need to do here.

if its a yes vote, we would still be in the eu for another two years, enough time to setup membership while still a member.. its been done in 18months before eu have a team looking into it all now i believe And there we have it !! Very Independent !

Say it is a yes vote and wee fat eck has to apply to join the EU ( as said if we get independence we have no automatic right to be in it ) as we will have no defense they will stipulate we get the euro ?. Who has said that ? If they've officially said that (I haven't heard it) its quite a wooly statement. What other choice is there than the Euro, as has been said on here, they'll not be keeping the pound. a pegged sovereign currency has very few drawbacks compared to a currency union , it would give the scottish government considerably more monetary and fiscal policy control, for examp

It will be a 'yes' vote and Scotland will have the Euro (they're already in the EU) Those who cast the votes decide nothing Those who count the votes decide everything. Joseph Stalin.

God bless and keep all victims of war. When will enough be enough ? The Question 1916Brethren, how shall it fare with me When the war is laid aside,If it be proven that I am he For whom a world has died?If it be proven that all my good, And the greater good I will make,Were purchased me by a multitude Who suffered for my sake? That I was delivered by mere mankind Vowed to one sacrifice,And not, as I hold them, battle-blind, But dying with open eyes? That they did not ask me to draw the sword When they stood to endure their lot --That they only looked to me for a word, And I answere

Rather than debating weither our not our troops should descend to the level of the savages their facing, surely we should be asking what the feck they are doing there in the first place. Bring them home, out of harms way. Put them on our borders if the threat is so great.

Or, they could have helped the poor cnut, come on we're British we don't stoop to those levels. Having said that, these lads are out there trying to make the best of a bad job. Should have been dealt with internally, without the publicity. imho.

He looks very much like his sire. Is my guess right ? Edited to say, might be handy if I named the dog I was thinking of, is it Jack ? Looks just like him. -
The words that will herald the onset of the book of revelation It's suicide for a non Scot to offer an opinion on this, but consider carefully the track record of the 'Troika' (EU, IMF, ECB) I hope common sense prevails, good luck.

Very emotive, but remember, what nation (as a people) did take out or ask for the same loans?, The money was used to bail the banks out. Careful, you get gaol for that sort of talk in Greece these days.

Whilst I admire and respect your passion and patriotic zeal for the place of your birth old sport, i'm afraid you are sadly deluded if you think Scotland will be cut loose from the grip of the central banks to happily tiptoe through the thistles, whistling amazing grace. ALL the countries you listed in your comparison of population, are economic basket cases, just like Britain. Like it or not, without each other (England, Scotland, Wales) the rabid banking vampire squid will pick us off more easily, as they have done to Greece, Ireland et al.
