fantastic idea, where do i get starving rats ? ................................... ffs Just put a live cage rat trap down baited with some peanut butter near one of the buildings around one of the farms you control the vermin on, I am sure there will rats around somewhere. Or maybe someone off here local to you already has some traps down and could sort you out with some. If you get some rats you will have to put a secret camera up to let us all watch them get bitten. the only way to do it.

well i don't post pics no more .for the reasons this topic has shown. i don't condone others posting pics that are legal tho,, free world and if others feel the need to post pics so be it.

and your right ian ,no shooting publication would show such pics,, that be so wrong ,, but its ok for sporting shooter to show pics of shot suckling vixens when the cubs are starving from hunger in some earty most fox shooters dont know about or care about even ,, so lets get things corect from the start shall we ,before each other starts knocking each others sports.

its got out of hand maybe ,, i myself see no harm in the pic posted.many of us get cubs each year in wires set for rabbit or hare,, but also gets hares and even the odd rabbit when snares set for fox. why the pic caused so much interest that the post was deleted i don't know,, and ian , terrier work in its current form is to use a terrier to bolt ,,t ain't comparable i guess but even tho maybe bolting fox ,there times where they stay to none targets underground to.. so terrier work at time is indiscriminate to.and sites like this promote some forms of terrier work .all you need to do is look a

regarding the cubs that got caught up in rabbit snare ,and the deleted and locked post . i seen the topic on our little trapping group . can i ask the mods why they felt the need to delete the topic.. the rabbit snares are free running, could be brass or air craft cable .and there no difference between a cub and an adult as far as foxes catching goes.. would grey rats caught in snare whip posts be deleted ????.. thank god there little groups and forums that cater for people who now the real facts. there was nothing wrong or illegal about the post .. only mods own feelings .

to be honest sounds like he is making good snares,,, where is it written in stone otc that propper snares need to be brass ???.and where the cruelty etc. any wire can be used from copper stainless ,brass or even galve.. no hard and fast rules..

nice to play about with the whips ,but the time they take to cut the wands,,the pegs ,the wires etc aint worth the effort if you need to rid rats fast,, best is a 110,or fenn in a wire cubby over runs.. fast,and effective .. but as i said whips ok if you got the time.

The first chap I mentored just needed a report on his attitude towards and knowledge of shooting safety plus a bit of fac hunting experience. I wasn't a referee to attest to his character etc. Although IMO he was very sound. think them new type snares are a bit shit lol,just another attempt to rob from people..its a pity they been designed and made by people who never had any real knowledge of fox snaring, maybe the odd one on a fence line etc..i can make a good type, a type that meets my needs on some land i use,, make other types that work best at other land i use.a snare is above all a wire noose, ok add stop etc but the simpler it is the better it performs.. and as woodga said on here courses from men who know f**k all ,,that's so true ,but that's the case often now with many self appointed experts out there,s

r,docks himself is responsible for so many not posting on here any more,, he has been a thorn in my side from the word go and always been one to criticize post of others while not adding anything constructive himself,, the good men on here post else where now,, ain't worth the rows on here with the likes of docks high jacking posts of others and to be honest ,, making them look as if they done some thing wrong..
