You, like Logun are misunderstanding my post. I've no problem with anyone making their own traps. I've no problem with anyone trying to improve the traps we have. Why would I? Without the capable engineers we've had in the past we would probably not have the traps available that we do. I don't even have a problem with Logun, or anyone else who makes traps selling a few to collectors and interested parties. You are so eloquent So someone on facebook has said 'be careful' or whatever and you seriously think that EN are investigating you? Sad. I'm sure they have better things to do than investigate some tight wad trying to save a few quid by knocking up cheap copies of approved traps for their own use. That is, of course, unless you've been selling them.... or using them........ or offering them for sale somewhere. As I said in my earlier post, you are obviously a skilled chap who is interested in improving the available traps. I'm pretty sure that EN have bigger fish to fry.

must add tho as ian says they are illegal to use in the uk, and there no need for such things when we got the fantastic colarum spring snare,, !!!..,even tho the lock is illegal to use in the uk on them ,

good film .and myselfe think a good leg hold trap,, modified and set well is more selective and more human than the snares we able to use hetre at the presenrt time.. if i was av fox i much rather puyll against my foot than my neck..but our laws are ? lets say strange..

thats unbelievable..200 fox and never had one who ain't dug,chewed or anything,, wish my foxes would sit and behave like yours,, my problem is i run of of runs to snare due to trap circles. i start from centre of run out till i can no longer set that run.. and needs it to grow over ready for nest year,, but come autumn the same run same places but by different fox be there.

ive had all sorts of rods from but the one i set my heart on now is the century tip tornado ld.,, i never had a rod that casts like this with out putting anything into it,, it handle broken ground well i use it in south wales the most tackle hungry place in the uk and it does well..if snaged need to pull out use your arm and not the ropd and you be fine,there a ld super match out to now looks like a carp rod but with guts and long range casting ,, try brands before you buy if you can but for me its century ld all the way..

as i said no trapping skill needed, and nice to know you make your own replacement snares save a few £notes that way,,im going to make one and post a few pics up over the week end ,you may be interested,

Maybe your trapping skills are the problem! no trapping skills needed in using them,,i just cant see the point in paying £100 for one when a snare can be made for say 50p or less.ok guess they have they uses if no runs to be found like urban areas etc but no skill needed at al in the setting of them

here a approved trap i use,, its a break back type,double the size of a pro victor,three times the power but is it leagle ?? to me yes.

Logun, please don't think I'm trying to offend you, but your posts are becoming more and more difficult to read. Do you have a spellchecker? I think you are suggesting that you have a picture of a home made break-back trap? As I'm sure you know, break-back traps are exempt from the spring trap approval orders if their intended use is for rats, mice or moles. I also notice that you haven't answered the question about building regulations. How would you feel if you lost work to an enthusiastic amateur who wasn't going to comply with the building regs? Surely the same applies?
