-
Get them up on dog lost .co.uk lurcher search and local vets in the area cop shop etc they might dump them you never know.Pm me the details and pics and i will post them on all the rescue forums for you they all work in pounds and such places so might just come across them
-
Adam you come across as someone totally dedicted to his dog and you clearly love your dog and want to work and turn this around. Please take the advice being given (well some of it) Keep the dog on a lead a long one and drum it into him for months before you even consider letting him loose again
-
Bonnie looking pup lad wish you all the best and hope you will have many good seasons with her.
-
Adam he wasnt interested before and it happened so id be sailing on the side of caution for a while yet get a long line he can still do his thing but you have control as well. That way you can be sure he cant do it again
-
Have you tried skinners duck and rice thats gluten and free from all the allergens dogs usually have problems with.
-
Order a tube of pro kolin on line conatinas prebitoics and stuff works wonders i always have a tube handy now only a tenner or £11 usually
-
Graham hope you catch them mate
-
Adam dont avoid sheep that wont help him at all.Just use a long line or lungle line only about £5 for one at most pet shops or online. Then you can train him and you still have a hold of him meaning he cant take off the same way he would off lead.Maybe if your going to have him off lead for now muzzle him so that at least he cant pull them down the same way
-
If she can prove you done it on purpose you could face charges mate so dont let it happen.Plus it aint the cats fault shes a tit.Get the wife to give her a slap and tell her to behave or water pistol.stick a little lemon juice in it they really hate itor ferret crap works as well
-
Id still use a lunge line for now to be totally sure hes under control mate

Because their head is so far up their own arse is why.All you asked for was some advice yet you got the stupid responses seen here all the best sorting the dog for now id be using a lunge line till you can be sure it wont happen again. Some people maybe dont care enough to try and fix the problems good luck to you for doing just that

How would you go about makeing a dog shit scared of sheep ? and can you explain how this would stop a dog worrying sheep? Bad choice of words my dogs know fine well theyre not on the menu i keep right on top of them on that score and they wont even look at them.Flints always been good never been interested growing up next to a field full of them.Any dog that comes here gets a walk to the fields locally to see their reaction and if they even look they get reprimanded for it
-
Hes only a young lad new to the hunting game.Thlpatrick no such thing as a pure lurcher theyre all cross breeds lol.For example whippets are pure breeds whippetx collie for eg is a lurcher which is not a purebreed cos its a cross between 2 breeds
-
It might do but ive yet to hear the truth LMAO might want to get your facts straight and stop barking and bitching at everyone.Maybe your doctor can help you with the removal of the stick stuck up your arse and give you something to ease your pmt mate ive heard evening primrose oil works wonders
-
Its a place i have permission for dogs are not normally allowed on it cos its private
-
Saluki grey bull if you know what your doing to train it if not get a whippet type
-
Whilst I admire your sentiment Ethyl. The time for sentiment has passed, what is needed is cold hard facts. People come on a forum and ask advice and it always seems to be after the fact. Would it not be better if people took the time to learn how to prevent such events taking place in the first place? Obviously, he has not a clue on how to stock break a dog. But, instead of asking for advice he just takes the dog out and once it had chased the sheep, he let it off the lead to chase them again with the consequence of the lamb being killed. I was always taught that you are responsible for
-
I may have a big heart and am somewhat softer on my dogs than some are on theirs. They know who the boss is and they accept it well.He may have not thought it all through 1rst but how do they ever learn if theyre not given good sound advice.Giving up at the first hurdle is for cowards in my opinion persevering providing it can be done safely is a better thing to be teaching people tbh.
-
No not sentiment mate true fact the dog may never be the same again but with the right approach it may be just fine. Its laziness and total lack of giving a f**k for the dog to pts at 9 and half months because it cannot be trained WTF.Im sorry but if you cant turn a dog round at that age then theres a problem.Id look closer to yourself if you have to resort to this mince tbh.Hes starting out where you 100% perfect and knowledgable when you first started never had to ask for help or advice knew exactly what to do in every situation.Short answer is none of did and always had people we call on for
-
He has been told how to remedy the problem he caused with the dog. A one way trip to the vets. Lets hope that his next dog will not end up in the same situation. If he cannot accept that it is he and he alone that has caused the problem then he should think carefully if working dogs are for him. TC Well maybe hes willing to try and put enough effort and time in to fix the solution rather than saying f**k it and having done with it either by shooting it or pts at a vets.Facts are the dogs young enough to re learn and yes your right probs was his fault for letting the dog get to that lev
-
Well would you not be better giving the lad your idea of what to do rather than telling everyone else theyre worng perhaps? Easy to sit there and be a smart arse the lads asked for advice not criticism he wants help to try and fix his dogs problem
-
I wont and never have or will ditch any of my pets thanks very much i have the patience and time to put in wont do what others do and sell him on and get another
-
Think we should be able to shoot stupid arrogant wankers too? Dont shoot the dog ffs its not even 10 months old yet could have been the other dog that weighed in first if you didnt see the whole thing unfold try a shockl collar and a hard line back to basics on every little thing.Dont let the dog away with anything and make sure it knows your the boss no arguements no debating it.
