  1. cheers guys just got to keep fingers crossed and hope for the best.
  2. a wee update and a question for you all iv just returned from the vet, and he says " mr @!"$@ its looking likely that the op is binding, although there is major discharge from leg. the main problem though is her leg appears to be rolling inward as if the pin has moved or in some way twisred. if it keeps going her toes could end up pointing backwards, though still be able to walk as her knuckle has been fused. " has anyone ever encountered anything like this? as iv never came across this before.
  3. hi guys thanks for the messages, its gonna be a hard and costly road, but as i said i was not leaving her (probably cause im scared what my mrs would do to me lol) na in all honesty, id do whatever it takes to get her on the mend. she gave me her all when i asked it of her, so its only right i do the same for her in return. i know a lot of people think "to hell with keeping a lurcher that cant run after such a horrific injury" and would put her down. i guess everyone has there own opinion and views , which is fine, but for me i treat every dog iv had as a family member and not just a worker.
  4. in the space of 20 min of the first 2 pics the end result was the 3rd pic. thats the last she will run , ah well, she is now gonna spend the rest of her days as a proper couch potato.
  5. thanks guys, i know of afew ppl myself that would not have carried her back, but in my mind she ran her ass off for me at every possible occasion, its the very least i could do. there was no way i was leaving her her running days are definitely over , she has been for a major op today in which they fitted a full titanium pin on the leg, and fused the knuckle with 4 pins. they originally tried an external cage to stop the leg from twisting but with her legs so thin it never worked, so this is the last resort to savin the leg . one can only hope . thanks agan folks for the comments.
  6. brain of the collie, acceleration of the whippet, ferocity of the beddy, speed of the grey. in my opinion if you can get that then you have the blue print for the perfect worker, but the dogs ultimate performance would be really downto you, as in how you bond and train it . i personally prefer bitches for me they appear to work better
  7. cheers guys, its a tough one but these things happen. yeah chris that was some trek back with her, just over 5 hours it took to get off the mountain. i take it you heard what i had to leave behind, i had tto there was no way i could carry everything and there was no way i was going back up to get it i was shatterd. if this has taught me one thing its taught me this no matter how well you know the land or your dogs capebilites always be prepared cause accidents can happen at any time. always tell someone whee your going that knows the area well, incase you ever need assistance. it
  8. im not on here that often, though its good seeing so many doing well. my dog recently broke her leg in 4 places , which obviously has me gutted , its the first time in my 25 year in this game iv had a dog sustain such a horrific injury. in honest it was just a freak collision with another dog whilst chasing down prey. there is a 50 50 chance she may lose her leg so fingers crossed. i hope everyone's doing well and hope all get through rest of season without enduring what im going through . i suppose the only thing i can do is sit back and read of all your successes and look out for a pup for n
  9. chris i re-homed Charlie to a young guy on here, glad charlie has went to a decent home, took him a few days to settle, "missin his comforts here" lol na but he is in good hands. The lad is gonna stay in touch and up for doing what i was planning initially, by lining charlie over Arwen in 2 years so alls good. i got a text from the lad telling me he had the wee man out on the lamp, and ended up nailing 5, so still doing ok. Got to be honest though, i really AM gutted about having to move him on, its tough having to give up a dog you have really worked on and know in your heart that
  10. aye mate thats right rehoming the wee pocket rocket, gutted aint the word if im honest. Not really got a choice one of them has to go so looks like its Charlie, such a shame to cause he does well,
  11. fair play to you mate thats not a thing my current mutts could do, but to be fair i have noticed on previous dogs iv had the older and more experienced they get, its as if they tend to realise whats within there capabilities, i.e. whats just to far, whats just gonna be a pointless run , especially if your dog knows the area and lay of the land to. cracking pic though
  12. cracking looking dogs mate
  13. at least the youngones round your way have a bit of an idea to what lucrhers are for. They all troup about here, with there staffs and dogs of similar breed (walking with swaggers like pete dunham from greenstreet), looking at my dogs and asking if my dogs suffer from anorrexia. braindead bloody morons "BRING BACK NATIONAL SERVICE" teach them all some bloody manners

  15. was out lastnight for an hour with both my dogs, first time since charlie (tan dog) was attacked by another dog and sustained a nasty wound on leg. was a bit dubious as to letting him run , but he has been yturning somersaults tryin to get off lead, so took a chance. Both charlie and pup ran well had a few pick ups and gave account of themselves. didnt see many rabbits but took a couple each so well chuffed

  17. defo more hares than rabbits in my area just now, its been really good watching there numbers grow, this winter should be good , unfortunatly the rabbits a of very few im actually loathed to kill any here as iv never ever seen the rabbit numbers so low. Teeth , I dont run them , i v never really was interested in them, there numbers are of staggering amounts, maybe for next season , take on a bull cross depending on how my personal circumstances go in next few months) just to try and at least give the rabbits more of a chance. ATB
  18. i know i shoulda went and tried to find out where they went , easy saying that now but hey , i just wanted dogs back in house, lol that stef will get done over if he gets caught in paisley , they lads dont mess about. so heres hoping Just a quick Question forthe moderators is there anyway you could open a section to keep details up here of known dog thiefs , maybe not names as such (cause that would be illegal) but for arguements sake a record like (take this stef for example) paisley area (love street) 1 suspected dog thief known of, notified by hamster on fri 22nd and h
  19. cheers folks , only took the cops just over 2hours to arrive, total wasters, "we ill do some checking out of the van and get back to you, if you see the van again call this number instantly" DOOOOOH ISNT THAT WHAT I JUST BLOODY DONE, OH THATS RIGHT I GOT THROUGH TO EDINBURGH OFFICE THATS WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG THEN after talking with john--1onthe fone , im thinking it must have been someone who seen me out with dogs cause i stay in a right quiet neighbourhood and to try that in broad daylight at my area in north glasgow just seems abit far fetched, one thing for sure , i normally trav
  20. yip ,but can just tell by there voice there not bloody interested, said they wouldsend someone round and look into it, what a waste of bloody time they are, if it was something like run a red light , they would chase you down to give you a bloody ticket , i bloody hate them almost as much as dog thiefs
  21. ten minutes ago i managed to stop a guy (white approx 5,10 , aged about 40 to 50 wearing blue jeans and what looked like a green fishing parker) trying to steal both my lurchers from my garden, even though its perfectly obvious one is badly injured. he got off his mark as quick as possible, into the van driven by another guy who looks of pakistani origin with short black hair possibly 40 . they are driving a white vauxhall vivaro registration nx08z think the last 2 letters were ju , this happenened around 1530 so please if your in glasgow area look out for them
  22. just noticed it says " my gog attacked by another out of control dog" lol but inthe end its not really that much of a funny story .
  23. Out a friendly walk lastnight with me an the mrs on the local park (theres a main rd leading into the park so dogs WERE on the lead as i was just entering park). Out of no where a huge male x lab went for my 8 month old bitch pup, it really meant buisness, so my other dog (charlie ,21 1/2 tts) done its best to defend her. i let them both go to allow the pup to go free and run off however this bloody dog got hold of charlie,s front leg and tore clean into flesh leaving a nasty wound, (it should heal ok, but thats not the point) in the melee,i was doing my very best to seperate the two, charlie a
