Scotland Faifley Terrier And Lurcher Club Show
birddog replied to young buck's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
its a wee bit away from us but a beltin wee show and lots to do for the kids, been to it a couple o years ago and would recommend to all, we were made welcome by all, if there was any bitchin or moaning we didn't see it, i'm only just out of hospital but if i'm just a wee bit better i'll be there and have a raffle prize.....good luck for the day -
You just love your jumpers don't you !! ...... all the fashion back in the day just as well the dogs are waaayy smarter
-
jb i know gem was bred out of two of 'those' dogs but how were they bred what %'s are in there ?
-
i think its down to the individual pups maturity, a lighter more whippetty type might be physically ready earlier than a larger heavier type but for me recall must be 100% before i'd think about it, i'd much rather spend an extra month training than risk spoiling a pup by trying too early

One of the funniest things ive saw and it happened that quick .......a few years ago a big hob ( bud....we call them all after drinks) of ours wandered off unnoticed, jazz who was wandering free hopped the fence picked him up maybe 30yds away and brought a very grumpy ferret back live to hand, never done it again, no harm done to any party but really funny
-
what ways she bred jb? She's bred out of 2 Hancocks mate. jb ......dont you mean HANCOCKS
-
Maybe collie x sub sections for 3/4 breds, first xs and 3/8ths - 58ths...and a fourth for reverse 3/4 breds.....and a special section for merles only.... Split into blue Merle, red Merle & wall eyed And split further for Hancock bred dogs.....and then specific sire categories.... Think it's a winner this one Ross... maybe then a wee sub forum for rough and smooth coated
-
maybe a collie x section...............
-
everyone develops their own style mate, there are some do's n don'ts though, my advice check out you tube....tons of lamping vids on there, try and find someone trustworthy / reliable/ experienced locally to show you the ropes.......the biggest bestest tip i can give you....have fun
-
just googled it......magnetic therapy........clinical trials 2003.....1st used 2006 for leg ulcers......benefits for alzhiemers.......theres lots of clinical rather than anecdotal evidence and it would appear mainstream medicine as opposed to holistic / alternative therapists is accepting it more

nine pic, bet he keeps you on your toes lol, had my lad(26) round sat night went for meal, bloody hell they grow up quick, enjoy him while he young, like the little terrier is it a jack .? Yes she's a jack Ray, she's a decent marker, use her for ratting and general mooching and bushing, she likes to be involved in everything... As does the lad he's 7 now and already knows more than me about everything lol... Definitely keep you on your toes lol Cheers Rob... at 7........wait till hes 15 lol

with no disrespect intended i think it would be best if you got yourself out and about with a few different guys who worked different types / breeds you'd maybe be better placed to make an informed decision, ie not all bull types are the same and some collie lines are all balls, a wee bit of research now could save much heartache later

she's 5 past, ive thought long and hard and spoke to lots of folks about this........my best ever, once in a lifetime (from late 70's early 80's) was grey / deer x grey / collie so something like trevor w's 'bruce' (who is a cracking 1st x and soooooooo well bred) would get my heart vote but unfortunately we don't have the same freedoms we did then so is this really the road to follow ? .....my head vote says the collie x i like them they suit me but what a choice and how much collie do you use ? 3/4 greyhound....'indie' .... 1st x 'bryn' ..... 3/8 'don' ....... if he were still avaliable
-
numbers game no..............one to hand yeah....keep it friendly guys
-
great wee vid and one of my dozen or so ........... and for ideation its not so much compare as admire and i know some like scottish hare hunters 'mia' , rays 'bryn' , the 'don' dog, borderscots merle dog and many more of similar quality have still to put in an appearance.....they're maybe just trying to be fashionably late and make an entrance lol Out of the dogs i've actually seen in the flesh work. . . . in her day i'd honestly pick J.B's Gem. . . . and i'm not saying that because he is a mate. I've never hunted with a dog as tuned in to what is going on as her, she's done what need

Got Photobucket Working....finally
birddog replied to DazAllison1's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
its hard not to like them eh ? they have their faults but the positives outweigh the negatives, mines is two past and her retrieving is still slowly getting better but i'd rather have a dog that caught stuff and didn't retrieve than one that couldn't catch -
have a look at some of the earlier pics in the thread..........on the right ground a good lamper will take that many in an hour

Introducing My New Pup To My Jack Russell
birddog replied to mhopton's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
we had genuine concerns when introducing our jazz to our aging grumpy lakey but a wee bit of patience and a good understanding of the ground rules and they were fine, the pup knew not to push it too much and eventually bramble was fine (but still grumpy lol) -
Is that dog tweedle dum x greyhound?its the double of mine except mines black n white she is mate, out of a bitch called bubbles over 5yr ago now
-
a couple more to keep it ticking on..............
-
i think ps83 hit it on the head.....all his dogs retrieve and they all have mint recall.......no recall = no retrieve........the tug / play, will / can reinforce loads but need that recall
