  1. Beardie crosses and the bitch is the dam to the dog
  2. I did. Brought the bitch over and bred the dog here.
  3. Great books that I have read many, many times: Forgotten Soldier - Guy Sajer. A tale of an Alsatian (a man from Alsace - not the dog) who joins the SS and fights on the Russian Front. Quite simply brilliant. Jude the Obscure - Thomas Hardy. Hardy's last novel as the criticism that he received from the moral majority was such that he swore to never write another. Long Walk - Slavomir Rawicz. A Polish officers tale of escape from a Siberian prison camp and his subsequent walk to India. Memoirs of an Infantry Officer - Siegfried Sassoon. I could pick any of the Sherston Trilogy, b
  4. There are some in Australia that aren't from accidental matings
  5. I can't really say without seeing her in the flesh mate, but if I had to put my house on it, I'd say she was stafford. I'm overseas now mate. Haven't been home for four years.
  6. How is she bred if you don’t mind me asking Sam? Your bitch looks a little wider and maybe a bit less leg, but it might just be the photo. Nell had a decent length of leg to her, but she was still only 16†so it was deceptive. She wasn’t fast by any means, but she worked well in cover. I’ll be getting another bull terrier next year as I’ve been without one for four years now. I’m itching to get out raking around with one again as it’s been far too long.
  7. PE over here is taken very seriously and kids have to do theory, which is biology and nutritional based studies, which they are graded on, as well as the actual PE itself. As a nation, they are obsessed with sport. I was lucky in that I went to a proper "old school" school, and I played cricket for them, rugby, football and cross country. I also played football for the town as well as rugby, and in my experience there was always lots of opportunity to do sport outside of school as well as within it. Our YMCA ran a lot of sports and I started martial arts there. RE was compulsory up unt
  8. Undoubtedly, when it came to going to ground. She'd pass for a Staff in many eyes until you got your hands on her though and then you could tell with the jacket.
  9. 24lb fit and 16" She was probably about 26/27lb there I'd imagine.
  10. My old one is 8 and the youngster is 3. They do ok for me Dave, not everyone's cup of tea but they suit me fine.
  11. There're some great articles by Chalky in the Working Terrier and Running Dog mags
  12. Very smart mate. How are you getting on with the dog?
  13. As we've mentioned before Warrigal, I reckon that'd be a nice little cross that one, and something close to what Magpie has there. The one I'd be personally interested in would be a bitch out of that mating put back to that great lump I have here.
  14. My experience with lurchers comes from owning and working the types which are deemed “traditionalâ€, which were Bedlington based and Collie based. These are the ones which used to make up the field at many a game fair and have served hunters well over the years. As times and circumstances changed I found I needed a different type of lurcher around me and one that would fulfil a more substantive criteria than what I had been used to doing with my old dogs. I really wanted the strong terrier’s power and mentality in a running dogs body and that made me look outside of the types that I had pr

Saw this one when I was out and about this morning. It was hanging around waiting for snack to appear I think.
  19. I can't see anyone bagging your captain It's a lovely day here. Thought KP looked very comfortable until Siddle rocked up.
  20. Our lads are currently stuffing themselves full of breakfast so lets hope there's enough fuel there for a long session at the crease.

  22. Doesn't that happen win, lose or draw though? Well the pubs are full with the barmy army already and it's 0700....it's going to be a good day!
