  1. Here we go....sat here with a bottle of ale watching the best showcase of rugby league in the world. Come on Queensland!!!!
  2. Sesku...it's going to a big night in Brisbane on Wednesday. I just hope that we salvage some pride and flog the mexicans in the last game.
  3. League is the best spectator sport for me. I love it. I live in a country with the best league football in the world....and I support the worst team in the league.....bloody Raiders. We do seem to suffer from a few of the players being a few sandwiches short though.....too much money and too much piss.
  4. Sonny Boy Williamson is the daddy
  5. EDRD ain't going to satisfy any fishing yearnings you might have, but if you wanr to read about any real experiences of lads digging, bushing, lamping, coursing or ferreting, then EDRD is the mag you want to read. It has recently had a re-vamp and has been invigorated. Top mag.
  6. Thank you! That was the bugger......couldn't think of it for the life of me!
  7. It's driving us mental thinking of the name...... There was this bloke and he drew cartoon storyboards.....only when he drew them, he had a puppet on his hand. Someone put me out of my misery
  8. Truly moving.....a fitting tribute
  9. Two handmade, pig-hunting cut collars. They are 4.25" wide and tried and tested in the bush. I will cover the postage from Australia so don't worry about that. As modeled by my youngster
  10. Those Romany things had something to do with those Dorset bulldogs didn't they? Dorset back over a bull terrier weren't they?
  11. There's a few firms here that hire them for parties, functions etc. Good business so I'm told.
  12. Class Stig! Always fancied one of those. The same fella I buy the singles from does a line in them but they are pricey. Cheaper to bring one in from the states than to buy one here. I always look out for them at the auctions.
  13. I have had to stop myself buying records for a while....got too many and I am running out of room. A lot of the lads here look for stuff they know but the sources are fast drying up for cheap deals. I prefer to look for stuff I don't know...obscure labels etc. Sometimes it pays off but more often than not I end up with a whole heap of unknown country & western. I did find a record dealer who only opens his shop one day a week and all he cared about was albums. He had thousands and thousands of singles dumped in boxes out the back and he couldn't have cared less about them. All priced to

Utter c**ts. Hope it all works out for you. If there is anything that I can do please let me know.
  15. He's from my part of the world and if he says it has seen graft...then it has seen graft. Whatever the type, Qbgrey throws work at his dogs and doesn't keep an ordinary type. I have no experience of the pocket rockets other than seeing them many moons ago when digging and they did the job required handsomely. What I am trying to say is that if Qbgrey told me his Boston Terrier was doing the business, I would listen.
  16. Strong edition of Earth Dog Running Dog this month!

  17. I know that argument very well Yokel and it's something that I have spent a lot of time pondering over; too much time if truth be told. Regardless of whether we think that there is terrier in the pit-dogs, there have been well documented crossings between bulldogs and terriers, such as the Billy mentioned a few pages ago. If the Sealyham crosses to correct the linty open Bedlington coat carried by the early Fells is true, then there's bull blood there. There could also be bull blood by the infusion of white dog blood. The baiting sports that were well supported before and after the 1835 Act ou

I am not a fan of the current position. I thought Newcastle would get relegated this season....went on record with it. I was pleasantly surprised with the first half of the reason....results wise...but then they flog Cabaye, which I agreed with after his Arsenal carry on, but last day of the season....again?!?! And no investment in the team....again?! Clueless without Remy up front. No ambition. A manager that has a ridiculously long contract, who nuts a player....perfect excuse to tear up that contract. He is a yes man to Ashley. Hughton got sacked from Norwich for a recent record that has be
  19. Not exactly a bully head but this is the earliest smooth black (?) that I have. My family came from Ambleside to County Durham after the First World War and always had terriers. The chap in the photo died in a pit accident in late 40's a few years after this was taken.
  20. Great post Catchwrestler....that's what it's all about!
  21. The man with the tattooed face worked his dogs...believe me. Subtle, he was not, but he did work his dogs. The skinhead in the bomber jacket with boots and combats...that's me
  22. Yeah they were nice. Some used to chuck double dews. The one we had went to 'friends' when doors were being knocked and when we went to get it back it had died. Funny that.
  23. That's him Dixie....you don't forget him lol
  24. Great post Bosun! The Jam and bull terriers...you just summed up my childhood too! lol My uncle had a white dog that he used in the field and he kept it up the allotment with him all the time and fed it on sheep heads (10p a bag from the butchers on Cheapside). I used to be transfixed with this beast and that started me on a road littered with disappointment lol. I once wrote about what I wanted in life as a young chap and that was a Greyhound and a Bull Terrier. What I actually wanted was what I thought a Greyhound and Bull Terrier could do.....so ended up with a lurcher and a stafford.
