  1. I've only used goretex ones so I can't really compare them to any other type, but I've had no bother. I got mine off an uncle who used them in a tour of the Falklands and they were his favourite bit of kit over there. I don't wear them anymore as my uncle robbed them back off me, although I've still got his RM windproof
  2. The Randy Scouse Git in question :11:
  3. Liverpool and it's inhabitants had made a massive impact on world culture. They've given us: The moustache and perm combo The Liver Birds Jan Molby (someone said he was Danish but who are they kidding! Have you heard him? ) The Farm The Shell Suit (de rigour on the Altcar flats) The Las Coral ?? Echo & The Bunnymen ?? And the one......the only.....Mr. Harry Cross Mind you, there's a long list of Liverpool haters with the Germans being at the top (don't mention this in Stan Boardman's company), Brendan Behan coming a close second after he tried to blow thei
  4. We don't do anything in your size :11:
  5. http://www.sofmilitary.co.uk/military/index.htm Some on here uunder the footwear section. I've only ever used the Berghaus goretex jobs myself and I've never had any complaints.
  6. How do they test for this? I've often seen statistics bandied about on various boards about jaw strength/biting power but with very little scientific evidence to back it up. I should imagine that most lurchers have got the jaw strength to deal with any British quarry if they wanted to...it's the "wanting to" part that is the vital ingredient. After all, most lurchers are going to have a height/weight and quite often, terrain advantage over their quarry. That desire to tackle whatever's in front of them is the key. In terms of gameness and speed, I know a half cross that does the lot and takes
  7. That's good going there Cramp Nice to see a bit of socialisation
  8. You're right there WAF. There's a spot near me that used to be excellent for nesting/birdwatching when I was a kid and the last time I was up there it's all pathed over and cleaned and fenced and they were advertising for a wildlife rangers job. There's nowt there but magpies and badgers and it's now called a nature reserve. There were 10 times more species there when it was left alone.
  9. If I was your pal, then I'd be looking to get a pup off parents who are doing what he wants his pup for, regardless off breeds involved. Plenty of lurcher x lurcher matings about.
  10. There was a time I was concerned about this bitches ability to hunt up. At one point she'd never leave my side but she had a road to Damascus moment and there's been no turning back When I say almost live to hand....it was almost live and it was almost to hand :11:
  11. I hope so Turk. She's doing ok so far. Cheers for the replies lads.

  13. That's true Kane. I guess you've just got to judge every dog individually and enter them as you see fit.
  14. Looking well there mate. Those dog seem to have very strong heads. Can you tell us the breeding on them?
  15. First off, apologies if any of you are now singing Barbara Streisand songs, i know a few of you like show tunes Anyway, I was on the phone to a mate tonight while I was walking some of my ground and the dogs put up what looked to be a whopper of a fox. The collie cross and the black bitch chased but missed. This got me to thinking about the first single handed fox that my Airedale/Bitsa cross took last year. She was only a year and a couple of days old and she'd had suspect prey drive, but she picked this fella up on a steep valley side and that was that. If I remember ri
  16. I only feed raw now, but I would never think of think of feeding meat only. Everyone's entitled to feed what they like, but I feed a lot of veg and a lot of meat and I've never had any bother. I've fed my dogs for performance for a long time and I'm not knocking anyone else, but they've performed.... You can all feed what you like but I know what my dogs do well on. The proof is in the pudding
  17. I thought dogs were omnivores? Mine are, they eat more grass than a herd of Fresians! :11:
  18. I had a mate with a timid red bodied russell years ago and he was only good on top. I think he was mate timid as a young dog though rather than being born that way. Fine for the brambles and rabbits, but he crumbled when he got stick back. He was handled all the time but he was inherently shy and scared and nothing we could do changed that one bit.
  19. Nice to have you on here big fella
  20. Ah, the land of Bookfast :11:, square sausages and heart disease :11:
