For any of you hoping to get any back copies of the magazine or any of Mr. Harcombe's books, or anyone wanting to drop by for chat, you're going to be disappointed this year as there's going to be no EDRD stall. The organisers along with the CMW who run the show area, have only offered Mr. Harcombe 10 feet of space this year, for reasons best known to themselves. This as I am sure you can appreciate isn't practical so there's no stand this year. Lets hope they pull their fingers out next year and offer EDRD a proper space like last years one.

The dates make sense too Jack. Rabbit coursing was banned by the 1911 (1912 Scotland) Act and it was really popular from the 1890's onwards. This and the ban on ear cropping caused the decline in popularity of the Manchester, which had previously been one of the most popular dogs in the country. It never really picked up again after that blow, unlike the Bull Terrier whose fortunes dipped due the crop ban, but picked up again once the breeders sorted the ear carriage out. Nice pics there too Jack. Always love seeing them.

Why the f**k would you want a dog that was dog aggressive? They're no use to man nor beast. There's a few about like that, but I bet the owners wish they weren't that way inclined.

Ash tips are terrible for digging in and I almost lost that bitch a few years back on a cave in. It's like when you dig in sand, everything just crumbles around you. Was out this morning just walking the hedge backs and potted a few birds. Good job I'm not relying on them for grub! This is what was a collard And I think this started off as a woody The only thing that survives intact are the corvids. She won't touch them

Found another new earth on another ash tip this morning. The foxes sure do like diggin in the easy places. Makes for some dicey digs on past experience though. Nelly gave it a thorough check but nowt in. There was very fresh sh*te at the entrance though. She's quite a leggy dog for what she is which just goes to prove that even leggy dogs can get to ground....in certain places anyway She's inherited the terriers jacket which doesn't half pick up a lot of muck! The entrance she entered in was big enough to hide Bin Laden in, but another entrance was a

I was speaking to one of the farmers this morning and we were both commenting on the fact that we hadn't seen any sign of mixy around at all. No sooner had I left him the lurcher has a run on a young un' and when I checked it over it had the very first signs around the eyes.

Found a new earth when I was out early doors this morning. Nice little three holer in an ash tip. Of course I had no nets nor a foxing lurcher, which meant that it had to hold :11: The bitch flew in and after a short while out came charlie....who I missed with the shotgun!
