It would be best to buy a locator and be careful where you enter your dog!

Hi mate, I sell bird tables, rustic garden furniture and dog kennels and when im at shows iv had quite a few irish people saying that they cant find our sort of stuff at home and if they can it costs a fortune, much more than we sell it for over here. Im not saying you have to sell what we sell but do not limit yourself to fieldsports kit if youve any doubt about making it pay. Look for any gap in the market to get on your feet then start to introduce things that you have a passion for and would like to sell. When I started working for myself I did it with as little risk as possible.

How do the lads that rob the dogs get them
DIDO.1 replied to folly terrier foot's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Someone tried this with my mother years ago. Said it was his that had been stolen and he wanted to look at its belly for a scar to prove it, tried to snatch the lead off her. Luckly my dad was just a hundred yards behind her so was soon on the spot. Told him to phone the police from a nearby phone box if he thought the dog was his but he just jumped in a car and drove off. We still never let the kids take the dogs out alone. -

What? Whether they are doing what you think should be done or not they are the only group promoteing hunting and fighting the ban. If anyone wants to knock em first list what YOU have done in the fight against the ban, both before and after. Yes they are tied in with big hunts and dont do as much for the running dogman, but thats where the volenteers and money for the fight comes from. If you can do more put your self forward.

Last year I stopped at a friends about a mile out of Appleby. We arrived back mid afternoon to find a pick up full of pikeys parked next to the house, one was taking a p**s in the middle of the drive while another was trying to force a piece of lead off the gate post top. Oh the horse fairs, what a beutiful ancient romany tradition. NOT!

Just out of interest, what type of hunt is the scarrview? Are they harriers? Where is there hunt country?
-
Firstly must say they arnt my type of dog. But the half dozen iv seen work have never made a noise while working. Got injured less than other types of running dog, worked heavy cover when lighter lurchers wouldnt and where well trained and sound with stock. They worked larger quarry and I had a respect for the job they did even tho it wasnt my type of dog work. But unfortunatly they do attract the numpties of the dog world in some cases.

Sounds like a god read i'll av it!!

Same here, but it wont do tories any harm to not get our votes in Euro elections. Well said, its interesting how many people call the BNP nazis and then try to justify banning a political party. Remember the nazis also banned hunting with hounds.

The antis cant really step it up more than they have been doing, the death of a hunt follower as an example. The court ruling a short time back will make prosecutions even less likely. The ruling more or less said you cant find a pack of hounds guilty so film of a pack hunting a fox is of no use, it must show huntsman encourageing(with intent!!) hounds, fox etc all in one shot. The exmoor huntsman who was found guilty was only fined £500 (he got off at apeal), whats £500 quid for 4 years of hunting between all the followers. Keep hunting!

I once read a book by some romany who claimed to be a "king of the gypsies". He went on and on about the romany way of live and how they were discriminated against then he told the story about how an ice cream van pulled on site so they ripped it to pieces and stole all the guys stuff "that will teach people to try and make money off the gypsies" he laughed! How do people with no jobs drive such big posh veichles? Do some people really belive that these old fashioned "true romanies" survive by roasting hedge hogs and mending pots and pans? Sorry to hijack your thread which should be con

The amount of people iv met with a black terrier and when iv asked them about it they have said its a PEDIGREE patterdale!! They will go down the same road as the Parson jack russel, saw one in the pub the other day, the owner told me all about how it was designed for hunting and lectured me for hours, bloody thing was a skinny, shaking, leggy weak dunghill! But its OK its a PEDIGREE!!!

Excuse my gramma Why dont you just ask the game handling establishment? instead of going behind there backs and above and beyond your job MR BUSY BODY. I stand by what I say, who needs the police to do there job when people like you do it for them!!! What are you in your spare time a special constable!!!! As for wildlife liason officer's there no better than the RSPCA. Ours in Lancashire has been fairly good, certainly better than RSPCA scumbags.

A bolt on a mountain side with a pack of hounds. Id rather see that than anything else in the world!!!

About two years ago I knew of 6 lots of kennels broke into within two weeks round here. I dont keep many dogs now and what I have are in the house, just cant take the risk anymore. I make and sell kennels and am working on a "sercurity plus model" with extra thick bars, internal hinges and a cctv camra included.

who does this egg belong to?
DIDO.1 replied to the Verminator's topic in Wildlife and General Photography
Its defo not a curlew, if its size of a chicken egg its not a woody. Iv never known cuckoo lay in pigeon nests. Could be owl or grebe or simply a chicken egg!!
