  1. Iv got 1 American game black red stag for sale, 4 month old. £30 Lancashire.
  2. Do it on private land where you have permission and you will have no problems. There many loop holes that allow you to work your dogs in the field against hares but if you go mob handed onto land where people are investing time and money into preserveing wild game then you will quite rightly have no defence in court. The wildlife officers that I have come across including the one in Lancashire mentioned above are all pro fieldsports and work well along side gamekeepers and hunts.
  3. Gangs of scroats walking private land killing leverets mob handed and threatening anyone who stops them have nothing in common with any traditional fieldsport and nothing in common with true hare courseing. I know the area of the above report well and if you think its a couple of kids running the odd hare you are very much mistaken. The vast majority of farmers in the area are very pro fieldsports and would never report small time sporting dog men but seeing gates ripped off, 4x4s driven over fields, dead game thrown in ditches and threats to their stock and homes on a regular basis leaves th
  4. I hope it is a long time, but does that mean hunting will be secure for the rest of my life/my childrens life? Only a small percent of the population actually vote so big swings are alway possible, it onlt takes a tony b/obama to swing a public. And do you think the tories will be successful in office and stay there?
  5. The consevatives have promised a free vote on repeal of the ban, but this may not be success full if they dont get a big majority. Problem is if its repealed then we may get one or two terms of goverment until they are thrown out and any future labour gov will learn from its mistakes with the current ban and really seek to finish us. The current question is should the ban be replaced with a licenceing system to provide a long turm future. An independent licenceing commitee is currently being put in place. As to wether this will benefit the independent lurcher/terrierman then the conserv
  6. Wev been going since blo*dy mid july. Estates want us before birds go in the pens and once you start you got to keep going. Feel like iv not had a rest this year!
  7. In the sporting press they have said that there are now no prosecutions against hunts left in the courts having all been dropped, but on the anti's websites they say that John Harris of the Ulswater will appear in court in September for illegal hunting, can anyone confirm this?
  8. What price can you do 8x4 9mm for?
  9. I have in the past destroyed bee nests but only if there is no other option and the are causeing a danger ie. I did one in a scool wall last year. But for me and every other pest controller that iv had any dealings with its a last resort. I would be happy to give you any help I could, as research into bees is important to us all in that they pollenate our crops, but the number of nests destroyed in is quite small and are usually in house walls where they cannot be reached, hence the need to destroy rather than move the offending nest. Ian.

  11. Is anyone going and can anyone confirm its on this Thursday? Ian.
  12. Apart from the rabbiting which they wernt chargeing for and they admitted they hadnt done before I thought they were quite good, OK they wernt super profesional but there has been lots of 'pest controlers' 'hunters' and 'fieldsports men' who have got themselves on tv over the years and made us look bad, at least these lads havnt given anyone else a bad name.
  13. Well that shut every one up NB!!!!
  14. Anybody in England or south scotland looking for a couple of beaters on or around the 12th? My local moor isnt shooting till September but we still want to get out in August. Two fit young experienced blokes, one with dogs if needed.
  15. Sorry just reread post and notced the lad does have a terrier!!! I'll keep my mouth shut from now on!!!!
  16. does your terrier try to enter earths and wholes when your rabbiting,if so then get your self a collar and a spade and ask your local gamekeeper 2 come along and supervise you,and just see how the dog does in a proper eath, he will either stick with his quarry or come out,and if you find you are finding it hard to reach the dog ,atleast then the keeper will show you how. theres only 1 way to learn bud and thats just to have a go at it, i did by myself and i havent looked back. Look at the picture, if his dog enters an earth and works a fox i'll eat one of them dead rabbits raw!!!
  17. The young lad knows nowt about earth dogs and foxing so tellin him to go out in the country and let his dog try earths (or what ever other holes he might come across and not be able to identify ) isnt helping the cause of the working dog. The lad has made a fair reqest with an offer of his own so he can learn. Ok its a long shot with the suspition that abounds quite rightly in the dog world but at least he offered a swop and isnt just begging to be taken on others perrmission. Good luck lad.
  18. Not saying anyone on here would break the law but thought as some of you keep gamefowl you might find the following study interesting. http://cockfighters.chat.ru/
  19. Whats at eggersford? We might come down early! If got the number of some guy who does guided kayak fishing so if I can get another day doing something I may just survive! Iv just covered my car in hunting stickers so I dont look like a tourist!
  20. Shall I resign with a badge saying 'rocking the boat'
  21. Anyone on here going out with the pennine for their first day/evening?
  22. Only the owners of vet practises earn good money. New grads do well to earn twenty grand, and dont get any extra for being on call. And thats after a min of 5 years trainig. Wouldnt this post of been more use if it was recommending vets with a good knowledge of working dogs/ferrets?

Cheers pal, im stopping in Polzeath which I think is near Padstow.
