Not to worry mate, there will be plenty more outings. Before i started ferreting i put the ferrets through some empty burrows first just to get them used to is, you have effectively done that but by accident John

I was down in gateshead about 6 weeks ago picking up an s410. On the way home, only about 15-20 mins from the metro centre, i took a right turn off the motorway to go for a piss. Looked over the wall where i was and seen about 20 rabbits running about. I wish i could remember where it was mate, but on the road home after that i did see a lot of rabbits in fields at the side of the road. There does seem a lot of land and rabbits to go at down your way, best bet is to go out looking for signs of them and just knock on the land owners door John

Scott used the H Points in his Ultra and got very bad results, i got good results with the 22's in my S200. Ill maybe pick up a tin of flat heads and a tin of a different kind of hollow points to try in both rifles. Good point re a low power rifle, will keep my eyes open for a bargain. What ones you using Phantom? John Really, mate, if it doesn't shoot well with the H Points, don't bother spending your cash on other daft shaped pellets, they just don't work. Try the flat heads, they'll do what you need at close range without too much risk of roof damage etc... Sound

After some more help people Been reading up on shooting ferals, looks like .22 is the preferred calibre, less over penetration so less damage to roofs etc. I think i would rather use my s410 .177 as im more confident, i'll maybe use the TX after ive had a few goes with the s410 if it looks like it is going to be close range shooting. I am a bit worried about damaging roofs, so what pellets would you use? Are hollow point better? Cheers John

Thats a major result mate. Managed to get another ferreting permission 20 mins from my house yesterday. Not major numbers but a decent amount and will provide a good few days ferreting at least. Also got some ferals to go at with the air rifle as well. Heading up with the ferrets on Saturday, first time out this season John

Cheers Phantom. I remember these posts from when they were first posted. Had a look at the video again, some useful tips, will need to watch it a few more times before it all sticks in my head, and will look at the website mentioned in more detail when im a bit less sleepy lol Cheers, John

Me and my mate Scott went around some farms near two of our permissions today to look for more land to shoot/ferret on. Must have knocked on about 7 doors but all were polite 'no thankyou's'. Decided to go to one more then go home for dinner. Turning right into the farm, the road to the farm must have been 2-300 yards. Half way down the road i noticed that the hedgeline on eachside was littered with burrows with fresh diggings drove to the house and seen the farmer. Got out and told him we used airguns and ferrets for pest control and noticed the burrows on our way in, and asked if h

Cheers Phantom. It was a different sort of shooting on this permission than im used to, usually i spend the whole night waiting for the rabbits to come out, static shooting. Done a bit of that but spent a lot of the night wandering about shining the lamp, i need to get a bloody sling sorted soon, my arm is aching this morning cheers mate. Hmmm range finding was quite difficult. It was easy enough to tell when a rabbit was too far away for me to take the shot. Was lucky with the first one as i could see it pretty well and guessed it was right on my zero and i was right. Th

Well not been out in about 5 or 6 weeks, so decided to go out with the lamp tonight with my mate Scott, to the stables my wee sister keeps her horse. This was my first night lamping properly, only ever done it towards the end of the night during the summer a couple of times but only for 20 mins or so at a time. Sorry about the thumbnail images, you will have to click on them to enlarge. Got there at about 6.45 and got all set up. Decided where i was going to snipe from so headed over. Got to the top of a small hill, shined the light to the bottom and around 5 rabbits were offski, so

I have for sale a TX200HC .22, it is a mk2. Ive only had the gun a couple of months, reason for sale is that im getting into HFT and want to buy an MTC Viper Condition is good but not perfect. The blueing on all steel is in good order with no rust or pits, it has a couple of small marks around the sliding breech. It has been given a light coating with an oily rag after each time i have used it. The stock is beech, in fair condition with a few scratches on the underside and none are deep. The chequering is in good condition. It has sling studs fitted, and the anti bear trap has been r

Yup very good guns, my mates got one it loves it. Only downside is the shots per fill but you can deal with that. You can get it reg'd and increase the shots per fill by quite a bit if you want to spend the money

Well I've had a 'touch of the Shays' (sorry mate had to say it ) recently and have been wanting another new gun. So after buying the TX200HC, I sold the S200, and today drove down to Newcastle and purchased an immaculate AA S410 Classic in .177. Decided i fancied a change to .177. So here she is, crowned with my Hawke MAP Pro Also got a silencer but not fitted it yet Going to an FT shoot tomorrow, without the gun, to speak to some guys ive been speaking to over the phone and hopefully start getting into FT/HFT So tomorrow i'll be sighting it in and doing a bit of target
