The old timer (just short of 10) is whippet, grey, bedlington x grey and the pup of 10 weeks is out of chippers nell and she is settling in very nicely.

The blue bitch (the mother) is a bedlington/whippet/grey x grey and the fawn bitch's sire was D Websters Rocky which was a total workaholic. Rod Clarke was behind the camera, so I can't take the credit there.

Nice topic this. Alot of our younger hunters will do well to read your thread, and just not bin their hunting companion once they have run them into the ground. I keep mine on light duties , just ticking over mainly ferreting and mooching about and leave the heavy duty work, lamping and the pre ban stuff to the younger members of my squad. Alot obviously depends on the workload you have given your dog over the years and if they have managed to stay relatively injury free.

Just come in from my kennel after patching up my bitch from this mornings outing. She took a bit of peppering, I noticed I needed to stock up on the penicillin/amoxicillin, which comes in really handy to fight off any infections. Have a look at Earth Dog Running Dog (No 207) pg 38 dog care product advert. It pays to be prepared.

I wonder if your old Kelly bred dog was as soft mouthed as mine,lol. Mine was out of Bracken x Misty 1995 but saying that old George had several Brackens and several Mistys,lol. Yes all game retrived live to hand lol. He was like a bloody crocodile and bounced everything off the ground just for good measure. Sadly missed.

Nice to see another Kelly bred dog. My old dog Jack RIP (back of the poor photo) with another couple of old timers. He was 23" and 50lb. G Kelly's Bracken x Misty. Welped in 1994.
