  1. That brindle pup looks nice and light!!! Chimp that avatar is seriously distracting lol
  2. The reason staffords these days aren't on par with apbt is because the gene pool over here is tiny in comparison to the USA/EU/Asia where matches are held on a weekly if not daily basis, as is the amount of owners that are willing to test their dog/s before deciding if it's breed worthy...obviously laws restrict us from fully being able to assess a dog properly. Imo it's that simple.
  3. Personally I think no matter what you intend to do with your dog be it sport/hunting etc etc it should be bred how they were intended out of parents that have been tested if possible that display the original traits the dogs were bred for. Not for fecking show titles!!!
  4. I see alot of well put together athletic staffords at athletic dog events that are really impressive, it's just a shame that they are in the minority and the average joe thinks a staff should be a short overweight bug eyed looking dog. At the end of the day a stafford was and still should be a leggy athletic game bred dog ready for the box!! jmo It's people breeding for show titles, so called rare colours, no dog aggression, greed etc etc that has f****d the breed to the state it is in now.
  5. I fully agree, peds have jack all to do with the ability of a dog.
  6. Thanks for that great comment lol It's quite insulting that you think I would own a dog and not know his ped inside out...Trust me, I know more about his ped than I do my own!! I have either spoke to the breeders of 90% of the dogs in his ped upto 4 or 5 gens in person, on the phone, via email or even letter. But I know unless I was there at every breeding how would I know for sure and all that.. Only time will tell how he turns out.
  7. Yep he sure is out of Mark and Debs litter..
  8. Here's his ped http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/american_bulldog/pedigree/932525.html Thanks patterdale666
  9. Here's a pup of mine. He's 11 months old now and seen a bit but nothing much. Full standard/performance bred AB, not many like him over here..Infact probably around 30 I'd say. He'd definately turn a few of you that think all AB's are shite and so would any dog from his line.
  10. Big ugly looking good for nothing excuses for bulldogs with the odd exception!! Imagine a huge English Bulldog and your not far off, if you wanted a dog aggressive possible man aggressive oversized dog with poor wind and breathing then that is what you will get.
  11. I love the crazy ebt egg heads, they're all nuts I swear lol!! Here's my Bulldog, only 11 months old so only seen a bit but has plenty of prey/mouth/wind.. He lives to destroy and destruct anything he can fit in his big gob.
  12. Sire is a nice looking dog, also the sires brother is a very well put together dog!! Any more info?? pm if you like..I'm a bit of a ped freak.
  13. Could be knuckling, alot of breeds get it. It's when the bone and ligaments etc grows at a different rate to eachother. My AB pup had it, change the food to a cheap low grade LOW protein food to slow growing untill it sorts itself out. But I'd still go vets to be sure.
  14. You know what that would have been then eh.............................? A f*****g black labrador........ It moved and looked like a cat not a fat lab lol!!! There's been a few sightings in the same area of so-called big cats.
  15. I'v seen what I can only assume was a big cat, black and about the size of a labrador running up the edge of a field. Freaked me out tbh!! But please don't tell folk, or they'll think I'm mad lol
  16. haha!!! I'v tested myself on a few hogs too over the years, ended up living with one and having a few piglets...
  17. Obviously hunting boar with dogs is illegal in the U.k. but I'd like to hear from anyone who has tested their dogs (whatever breed) on hogs in Europe.
  18. Probably wouldn't be as good as using a good well tested AB from hunting lines like hines/stout/dorsey/kinghaven etc. They are all the same size and equally as tough..painters aren't really known for their hunting ability and to be honest I don't think you can get them pure anymore. But If I was going to do a grey x AB it would be with one from a hunting line where the males are all under 90lbs at least. I want to get my boy over into Europe when he's a bit older to get him tested on hogs, he's out of pure hogdog lines so he's got to be at least a little good at it lol!!!
  19. Well my american bulldog pup had a nice rabbit dinner straight after he caught one the fat greedy git!!! It would have torn in half if I'd tried getting it off him lol
  20. AB x Dogo from texas iirc. Both hunt really well, the cross was done to clean up the dogo using AB blood apparently lol.....that must have pissed a few folk off!!!
  21. I can't see why a well bred Dogo x wouldn't work well on larger quarry. Here's my performance/standard bred AB pup, he was hanging off a muntjac earlier today at 8 months old....Not all Ab's in the UK are crappers but as I attend a few shows I would say that a big portion of what I see are absolutely foooked and couldn't catch a cold. Here's his ped. He's got bosshog, ouija, snowbird & Hoghammer aswell as most other well known hogdogs in his ped. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/dogs/american_bulldog/pedigree/5/932525.html
