  1. my signature says lincolnshire, as far as im aware the yorkshire lad's doesnt say nothing
  2. Ive made myself a load of cards thats a bit smaller than A5 just to advertise my free and humane pest control services to farmers, game keepers and landowners. On the card it basically says about myself, what i can control and have experience controling and the methods i use. It also says that i will happily give a demonstration of my ability and responsibilty and give any references needed. I dont know if this is the best way about it, but as soon as i get a free saturday im goin to go around a few local farms and see if i can get sum shooting permission, have a word [bANNED TEXT] the far

    Rats

If you planned it out well before hand and maybe had a few shooters scattered around working as a team, shooting baited up areas with air rifles and lamps, then i dnt see why shooting couldnt make a good dent in the popluation after a few nights shooting (but im no expert on big infestations like that). But ive gotta agree with simoman, i think a pack of ratters would be the best approach. See what the experienced terrier lads think.
  4. I'll be honest, it scares the f*****g shit out of me when you see what these animal rights people want to achieve and how organisations like the RSPCA have changed. The vast majority of people look at the RSPCA as a truely good organisation and would never question a word they say. You only have to look at the posters that the LACS produce to get legal snaring banned showing snared badgers (which is illegal anyway). But at least with all this bollocks the animal rights people are chucking at the public, there are plenty others who are showing the facts and what these so called animal right
  5. Just had a look for you, and there about £250 just for the gun but second hand would obviously be alot cheaper. But bear in mind you have to get charging gear as well and a scope, bag, pellets etc. My first P.C.P was BSA Spitfire with a basic 3-9x40 scope, webley pump and gun bag, all new and that came to £400. And that was starting at the cheapest end of the P.C.P market (but still a very decent setup).
  6. Looks must run in their family mate both very good lookin bitches. Iv'e looked at her breedin before but it dont mean much to me , my dad knows all about it better.
  7. Jessica's Neolle (meant to be jessica's noelle, but the trainer spelt it wrong when registering her ) and she races at Colwick Park Nottingham.
  8. Seeing as i have figured out how to post pics, i thought i would post a few of our racing greyhound. My dad and uncle have half share and the trainer has the other half, but she will be coming home to retire with my family when she's finished her racing career.
  9. AA S410 in .22 with a Hawke Varmint II 3-12x44 PA
  10. got a text this afternoon off of the lad who i am going with: "cant go ferretin mate, ive broke my toe" :11: :11: so ill have to let you know how we get on when his toe has healed
  11. Just had a quick look in the Air Gunner magazine and you are looking at: BSA Lightning BSA Supersport Webley Excocet Weihrauch HW95 all plus a standard sort of scope of course, something like a hawke 3-9x40. all around the £200 mark
  12. all about wild food tonight, should be good
  13. well done mate im going out this saturday with a mate who i go beating with ferreting to net and gun for the keeper. fingers crossed
  14. I use Air Arms Diablo's, there very accurate in my gun out to about 30 yards but i cant get them to group well beyond that, ive wondered if my rifle could do with having the bore cleaned. To be honest though, i think that it is more important how accurate the pellets are as opposed to their penetration/nock-down power, because air rifles fire the pellets with so little energy that if you dont hit a vital organ the type of pellet usually doesnt matter as the difference in the energy absorbed by the target is so little it would not affect the outcome.

  19. thats pretty damn cheap. think when im ready i will join my local clay club to get some practice and a good foundation and then get down to my local gun shop and have a look at some second hand guns. i havent completely decided yet but i am certainly more seriously considerring it now. does anyone have any experiance with Lanber models or the Yildiz 20-bore? they seem decent but fairly priced shotties
  20. Sorry to steel the thread ferreterno1 , but while we are on the topic of starting shotgunning: How much would it cost to start out, reliable second hand gun, cabinet, licence. Because i have been considering it for a while now so i can keep up with my mate (i only shoot an air rifle, he shoots a silver pigeon). It would be for general rough shooting, i was thinking second hand sbs or o/you
  21. Thanks trill, thats exactly what i was lookin for, bit of everything. Are both the ferretman dvds pretty similar in content, because i want one with plenty of action and from what i have read, the second one (the ferretman - gone rabbiting) has more actual rabbitin on. Anymore advice or recomendations on other dvds would be apreciated
  22. What do you folks rekon to either of these? I wanted to get a decent lurcher and rabbitin dvd/video.
  23. sounds like you had a good day im going for my first day beating this saturday and i cant wait. i love it, been once before on a different shoot with a mate but hopefully i shud be beating for the whole season with this shoot and just lookin forward to the people i'll meet, watching their dogs work and the opertunities that may arise from it.
  24. Iv'e just got in with one of my local shoots beating, goin for the first day this saturday Why don't you just ask around, at your local gunshop or buchers etc, if they know a local keeper. Most shoots are always looking for extra beeters.
  25. sure im not the only one really envious of you two hopefully when i finish uni in 3 years time ill be able to get some serious shooting in and venture into other field sports. anyway keep puttin up the threads, there great
