    Had one years ago but not for shooting.He worked as part of a pack we used as i would call it for open hunting.Dog would work from morning until night,could be headstrong but had massive drive. What they are like as a shooting dog im not sure but this particular dog killed birds regularly enough but i would say with the right discipline you would not go far wrong.I was sorry at the time when i got him i did not get two as i was offered a pair.Dog worked cover like a train and if there was game there rest assured it would find it.     I rarely post here but great post and you should be commended for the work you are doing with this breed.Again a great read written by a knowledgeable hunting man.

    Know the areas you mentioned well.Knew there was one or two familys of that name in Blackrock but wouldn't have thought they were doggie men(i may be wrong).If i find out anything worthwhile i will let you know.

    Name and shame them.You cant shame travellers my good man.They could not give a .... whether there was people in the house or not and would take dogs from a yard morning noon or night. Grew up in a part of Cork awash with them and if you think it was that easy to go into a site and take a dog back from these lads you are sadly mistaken despite a lot of the bravado typed on this site.Cross these people and your car gets burnt out,windows put in children hassled on the street etc. To the original poster, It goes without saying i hope the dog gets recovered but it is rare enough that
