2434me has hit the nail on the head to be fair. I work in professional deer management, im employed and always have been by people with more money than i'll earn in my lifetime. Therfore ive no need to continuously post pictures and stories, i like to keep myself to myself, and enjoys others squabbling. Dont get me wrong though, its great reading foxdroppers outings, along with martins and local. These are guys who arent in full time deer jobs, but love getting out there and sharing there experiences with us, be grateful, they dont have to! Then theres John... only joking chap. Peopl

What age bracket do you think foxdropper, i thought he looked younger than you think in the photos? Got your e-mail, message inbound when i get 2 mins!
-
Guess what! I have one of those. same age as well as same lines Hold him back a little in the drives. dont cast him off as soon as the drive start and pull him back towards the end of the drive. when the keeper tells you all to let the dogs go i would call him back and put him on the lead. no the snip doesnt slow them down, it just kills their coat and they put weight on. i feed mine and energy bar at lunch time. chudleys bar, it just helps his to last the day. i always think of my dogs before myself so i tend to sit with them at the truck on lunch brake so i can d

mate, [bANNED TEXT] an awesome dog.............wanna sell him to a new zealand home ? Ive had offers in the past which ive declined and i always will im afraid chap. He was a "tip" from a client..certainly the best i'll ever have, now he's a real worker, hard hunter and best friend.
-
I think ive spotted him mate from a distance though but the rut may see him closer than he would want to be .

Shame about the broken tine end on the buck you shot John, lovely looking head otherwise
-
Spend some time trying to catch up with the buck that put the whole in him foxdropper, i doubt he's a tiddler if he's still about. Congratulations though, much deserved. Nice to see a head boiled out properly local, its not a difficult task but one which a lot of people dont seem to be able to do all that well. A little boiler and a power washer make all the difference!

Has anyone got either a pair of Siberian Bullfinch or Siberian Goldfinch they would be willing to part with, english bred. If you could let me know. May also be interested in a turtle dove male if anyone has one....ive got the bug back!

I havnt got any photos to hand currently but it happens often in farmed deer. More so with with the red stags which have been de-antlered eating out of the silage rings. They itch themselves to the point in which they've hardly a hair on their neck, almost bold! When ive a photo i'll post it up

I have many leases over many thousand acres in different parts of the country and I have never ever seen Twin bucks ever ,I am aware there are exceptions but I havent come across them and I have been stalking and wild life management for over 30 years. Regards Cap I would have to back up foxdropper on this im afraid, I could take you to ground now and show you last years kids still twinned up in brothers and sisters pairs. Obviously different ground varies and it could be that some does only ever throw the same sex. Certainly we've had red hinds in farm/park environments that

Doubt it Male twins in Roe would be extremely rare Roe usually either have A male and a Female kid or just one kid if its a single kid thats usually a female. There are exceptions but if different to the above it isnt normal. Regards Cap

He's a cracker chap, must have brought a smile when you got up to him
-
what lines is he from ?? sire / dam , he's a good looker He's out of Dardnell dealer with Chyknell gold star the sire of the dam. Many thanks for the replys, certainly makes sense with regards pacing him.
-
I did think the same, but just wanted in confirmed. Thing is, i wouldnt changed his style for the world, yes maybe a more "normal bred" dog would have been better for long days, but im sure once crossed back over, i should get something

This is my cocker dog who's rising two now, bred with more FTCH than ive had hot dinners and probably the best dog i'll ever own, my only problem with him is that he wants to please toomuch, maybe not a bad thing...but im worried because he hunts so hard, he looks about done by the third drive. i know thats there nature but is there anything other than change food that would calm him slightly.....he's not getting the snip before anyone asks! Regards Tom

Finally caught up with the tiddler when he wasnt doing 120mph across the ride, not a sight everyone gets to see!

Heres your pricket foxdropper! Was probably the best spiker of that years calves. Genetically they are different, if you were to DNA test you would probably get a surprise. Saying that though if you brought down some of the better quality hill animals onto dairy cow quality grazing and good browse ive no doubt they would excell in beam thickness, weight and no doubt more points. Not to the extent of some of these photographed but certainly "emperor" standard! -
I put together my own mix foxdropper, wheat works fine but to really pull the deer in you need a few sweetners! Found that the most important thing is consistency, feed at the same time every day, just as a keeper would feed his pheasants. Ive stopped feeding now obviously with the new growth about but by early january everything was stood out on the rides as i came to feed...a sight to smile about!

Spot on SGF. It was shot when i was on a "working holiday" out there. Best hunt possible, spied it at 8am and took the shot at 1:30pm. I thought i was fit but the kiwi that took me out was like a Thar himself!
