    Fowling trip

"Cowboy corner" I like that one and its true enough we were down near the mouth of the river and we had the whole of that corner to our self. I could see the geese lifting from that corner through the bins and there must of been a good few boys down there shooting at well to high birds. I've never been down to montrose basin a quite fancy going there though our local ground is the Ythan as I live right beside it its not big but can be good for geese on a strong wind.
  7. Well guys I had my little trip up to Findhorn bay a little disapointed , not that there was no geese but with mine and j4wgs's shooting had a strong westerly wind and a couple of perfect skeins of pinks flighting off the mud right over us at 15 to 20 yards up. I managed to miss with both shots and j4wgs hit 1 and not even cleanly with that goose collected and dispatched we sat out for another hour only to watch the rest of the geese flight the opposite direction but thats fowling for you. It was still an excelent trip all the same. Happy Hunting. Meikle

  12. Longnets all the way, some of the warrens that we have on our land are 50 plus holes and there is no way i'm putting out 50 purse nets its alot easier to longnet around them all them and put 1 or 2 nets crossing through the middle of them.
  13. DO YOU EVER GET UP TO FINDHORN BAY CAN BE GOOD FOR GEESE AT TIMES Alright chief I was up there last year at the tail end of the season for a morning flight we arrived up there at 4am expecting to have some time to suss out where we were going and what would be a good spot but when we pulled into to carpark opposite the foundation and there was already 6 motors down and 1 guy just walking out onto the shore. We then rushed down onto the shore to find a spot and there was guys spread right along the edge the 3 of us never shot anything but it was good just to see the numbers of geese

    geese

Aye a totally agree wi you chay, I live just beside the Ythan estuary and folk like that put us all in a bad light what gets me is how after the first barnacle was dropped why the guide didn't stop the party and pull them up on the identification of geese. I was down the shore last night and the amount of geese that were over head were well into the thousands all flighting back to meikle loch a good number did put into the estuary though. The other thing that f*cks me right off is guys shooting at 100yard high geese as some c*nts were last night, when I went over to speak to them they h

We've got a few desent sized skiens of pinks and greys up with us, there arriving ,stopping for a night and heading south,I got a shot at a skien of greys two nights ago but missed (must be a little rusty wi the big gun) and a group of guys further down the shore had managed to call in a small group of pinks and got 4 of them. Not had the big numbers of pinks and greys yet though, cant wait til they do arrive. Happy Hunting.
