    ive often wondered why ms Darcy.............i dont understand folks problem with the breed, great little breed of terrier,just the mention of them on here seems to get peoples backs up,usually people that have no 1st hand experience of them aswell.i just cant get my head round all the negativity. Yes its quite sad really. There are some who could start an argument in an empty room-both within the breed and outside of it!

    If we're talking stats,probably 90% of most types of terrier arent digging dogs.Not worked REALLY hard (tested,as most critics put it) Kind of puts things into perspective a bit?

    Never will there be a winner when plummers are under "discussion"! Most critics have obviously seen all of the plummers in existence to make such informed judgements! Incidentally,how many of the wonderful patts fail to make the grade? Theres good and bad in all types.

    H.H.-in your first post you state that the standard of working terrier has become GENERALLY poor.You must have travelled far and wide to make such a sweeping statement. Next it seems,you are blaming one man for ruining YOURS and your friends terriers? Maybe you should be "sharing your feelings" with those who have pissed you off rather than slating dogs and their owners generally.

    Top class dogs. Nature or nurture? Is there a lack of top quality dogs? Or a lack of capable trainers? Or both? Quite an opening post H.H. But is it as black and white as you state? NO pun intended. There have been posts on digging dogs not needing to be stock broken,non retrieving lurchers-does it matter? etc etc. Says more about the owners than the dogs. The number of failures a man (or woman) has, often indicates where the problem lies!

    Not too old mate. Makes no difference he lives in-often you get to know your dog better. Give him a go and dont give up if he doesnt go straight away.
