  1. As title-the striker used to have a 75w bulb with horizontal filament(lengthways in the bulb rather than across). Does anyone know where i can get one,as Deben only supply a 100w bulb like this now? Cheers, storm
  2. one bit my index finger to the bone one night when i put my hand down in the dark to take a retrieved rabbit from the dog. Those flat teeth hurt like a bitch.
  3. I used to supply fox pelts to Cobbledick, mink too. His place in Bude was burnt down by the bunny huggers. Roll up the pelts, freeze them and take a load up there every couple of weeks. Knew lads that used to snare them for the pelts too.
  4. Irish hares are easier than browns. Very similar to blues. Caught several over there years back, and mine werent hare dogs.
  5. I hope you wont be SELLING any pups-taboo! More shit for the gene pool-And Plummers to boot!!!
  6. Careful there dev-youre nearly called Dave! Despite that, good point.
  7. theres a fella that lives around the road from me called dave he has a terrier and goes to shows and on forums and tells people how good his dog is and how many times hes dug it. but dave has never dug his dog and hes a lying co/k fact hes the reason for the decline in working terriers Dave has single handedly ruined the working terrier! We all know a "Dave" or two. Lakeman-nearer the truth maybe? Then again-the "Daves" of this world have always been with us,its not a modern thing. No offence to any Daves with good dogs by the way.
  8. I asked what these opinions are based on?
  9. No offence to anyone, but that seems to be one of the main gripes. What is this opinion based on? No one could possibly know what dogs are being worked and bred all over Britain. So much of this must be heresay rather than actual fact?
  10. I've noticed from a few recent threads that some are of the opinion that the modern terriers working abilities are in decline. Are they?-if so, In what way,and why? Lets hear your opinions...........
  11. He saw you coming BBB! He doesnt use a call, just his hand. Got to say,ive never seen anyone call like him.He can mimic almost any animal or bird in distress and his vixen call is more realistic than a real one! Foxes seem to appear from nowhere.
  12. Stormy, I've just been informed that there are - a litter of 4 dog pups, just a few days old by him. When I get some photos of the pups I will let you see them Cheers keeps-thats good news.Look forward to seeing them-he's a fine dog.I'm still gutted i couldnt take him on.
  13. Thats cheating, using a lamp! I hunted my pack in moonlight-sounded great in the woods, baying like little hounds. Never caught any foxes but scared a few! They did nail the odd rabbit and had a couple of brushes with some slower, bulky things-a bit hairy in the dark with just a little torch. All good fun though.
  14. Id agree with that Cleanspade. This one is JRT x Plummer, the plummer dog being stronger than the JRT bitch sire Bear pretty much replicated himself there typewise. It would be nice to see some plummers by him.
  15. "make the right moves" and "help along". Sounds like training to me mate!
  16. Stand back quick though-that shit smarts a bit!
  17. name dont meen a thing alot of lads see a dog working then think pups are going to be same that to me is bullsh*t the dog as got to been shown what to do tuck out doing it job so it can pick up the the way you want it to work you could get a pup off any f*cker and it could be best dog you ever seen at end of day it what you train the dog to do :clapper: "TRAIN" NOW THERE'S A THL STATEMENT. YOU CAN TRAIN A DOG TO SIT, STAY, LIE DOWN. YOU CAN'T TRAIN A TERRIER TO GO INTO THE DARK AND DO IT'S JOB. HOW WOULD YOU "TRAIN" A TERRIER TO ENTER, FIND, STAY UNTIL DUG TO? PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME? IF A
  18. "Terriers get immune to punctures, but slashes need immediate attention" your words FD,and complete bullshit. As for me being a retard, lmfao. Do you want to elaborate on this mate as you must be doing something im not and any advice is well recieved .Fox bites ,and i mean puncture wounds, are no problem to a terrier that is used to it .Slashes get filled with dirt and unless treated soon they go wrong.Tell me whats bullshit about that . Well mate i nearly lost a terrier through a puncture wound, small insignificant single puncture, didnt even see it,next day the dog was se
  19. Albinism is recessive to polecat colouring. If 2 albinos are mated, the litter will be 100% white. If mated to polecat, the litter will be 100% polecat coloured but will carry albino genes. If the albino/polecat is mated to albino, the litter will be 50% albino,25% polecat, carrying albino, and 25% "pure" polecat.(not carrying albino). If whites appear in "pure" polecat matings, both parents must be carrying albino genes. silver etc is a modification of the colouring/dilution genes. This is why the polecat v albino arguement is nonsense!!
  20. Name calling on the net...........how very grown up.
  21. Ever been tied around the legs by manic bitches on long leads? Well terriers are just the same!
  22. Theres a promising young beast of a dog on the WPT site-should make some strong pups.
