  1. The biggest messer quote on the site and one that instantly boils my piss......You are going to keep a dog(well perhaps YOU dont) for 14 years, get many seasons graft out of it, so surely, a drive/train ride/transporter to get the dog you want is f**k all in the grand scheme of things surely? Your in Sussex, hes is Sheffield and its too far?? Really its too far???? Ffs............. Well said.
  2. Nice dog. What terrier is in it?
  3. I rest my case. BTW i would be pretty disappointed if a terrier wasn't 'ragging rats' at 5 months.
  4. Solidarity!! Its a Plummer thread Omega. If they aren't being slagged off by 'real' terriermen (!),they're fighting amongst themselves. Gravels obviously on the wind up,he's just not very good at it.
  5. The words 'retrieve' and 'pre ban' fool the antis every time.
  6. I'm told by a reliable source that these mal x of flints excel at their job. Good luck with the pups. (Though from what I'm told luck will have little to do with their success!)
  7. Suit yourself, no sleep lost over it. "vampire lines " suggests you may not be sure yourself? Anyhow enjoy.............
  8. That line is well diluted now. Which are recent ancestors?
  9. You should be in control of the dog on or off the slip. If you aren't it isnt trained properly. Lamp lighting quarry-go,lamp off, back to you. Simple. If the dog doesnt do that then its not a lamp dog,its a point and shoot coursing dog thats not trained to the lamp properly.
  10. Its a good method for a quick single handed kill, say when holding a lamp. I take the head behind the ears between the index and 2nd fingers, also gripping with the thumb under the chin. Quick flick, job done. Chin them in the net or stretch and break if out of the net.
  11. Good explanation skycat-teaching the 'give' before the tugging exercise. Now it makes sense.
  12. I think this has been mentioned before............I assume its for retrieving training? If it is and your dog starts fetching to you for a tug of war,how do you stop it 'tugging'? You have to break a habit you have created (without spoiling the retrieve). Think about it.........
  13. That would have been the penned reds on the deer farm that used to be on the edge of Bodmin moor? Nothing heroic about shooting ducks in a barrel............
  14. Theres another one too-'some will never own a good dog as long as they have a hole in their arse'. Theres usually a good reason.
  15. Cheers for the pms lads, boxes on the way for repair.
  16. Just 2 questions folks. Does anyone know of somewhere that can repair mk1 locator boxes? Also, does the mk3 collar work with mk1 box? I would be grateful if anyone can advise. Cheers,Storm.
  17. Lets put it this way-when the pelts were worth money, you wouldn't be skinning them in the kitchen!!
  18. Post it up mate. I haven't mastered photobucket yet! Its idiot proof apparently.
  19. The thread is' pre ban' CS. As for todays dogs shaping the future-that depends entirely on the breeders. It can go in either direction-work or show. There will be a divergence at best. HGN-All plummer threads turn to shit. As you say, those that work them..........No dick swinging required. At the end of the day, they're dogs FFS.
