Then he would be best getting a bull x. As for breeding buck with "anything" to reduce size and weight, with respect is a rediculus statement. Ray has said buck has the attributes he wants in a dog. Good with people and dogs, turns it on when required and the rest. You add bull to a heavy dog, throw in saluki and you could get anything from a mastiff type to a greyhound. Buck apparently has guts to spare and a fair turn of speed- what exactly is a bull x going to add? Rays choice at the end of the day but he has said a smaller rabbiting type will probably be the way to go which

The more breeds the more variable results. Unless you're embarking on a long term programme, which, no offence to Ray, he won't go doing at this stage.

A lot of over thinking going on imo. Buck seems to have the attributes ray likes, if a little more speed and reducing the size a bit is what he's looking for then a grew would fit the bill. Why the hell would you put bull or anything else in when buck does it. If I wanted a gp lurcher I would be first in the queue.

A lot of breeding results from studs depend on how homozygous they are ie:do they stamp their type on their offspring. The only way to find out is to try it!

I've said it before ray, buck put back to a grew would probably breed some very useful pups. He carries enough substance and, from your description of him, balls, to produce the goods next generation. I would wager the resulting whelps wouldn't be lacking in strength or drive. Never been a fan of too many breeds in a lurcher, the more variaty of genes the more variable the litter.
