I'll find out more info on the ones he's had and any pics. His daughter still has a dog one it's a beauty nice racey type but don't think it's ever seen a thing. as you say it's a real shame if they had to die out or become only show hounds a lot of fun to be had with them think it's just their size and the way the laws are these days that puts people off them

There's always a grace about those deerhounds charts beauty's. there's a boy stays down the road from me who used to course pure deerhounds in the competitions in Scotland and england I'll need to find out more info on them he was good pals with miss noble

How many 6 minute runs ?

Could all turn out shite lol just the luck of the draw try give yourself the best chance of a good outcome but when it comes down it it's up to the dog wether it's got it or not

Was a full blown winters day up this neck of the woods yesterday bitterly cold. Could be doing with some sunshine now though

The best hares in the country ? Where you can't put a bend in under 4 minutes ? Best of going further down south where the hares are caught in less amount of time

Think him and bangers are going to share it between them grebs no got time to look after it and walk it and bangers is scared to step into a field. bangers will look after it and green will take it out onto the field lol

Correct and a dog that applies more pressure is going to cause the hare into making more mistakes so a 6 minute for one dog might be 4 minutes for the other because it's forcing the hare into making more moves rather than just sitting off the hare You could sit and argue until the cows come home but it's all different variations lad , weather , running conditions and land lol

But that's just common sense obviously there no all gonna go under 1/2 minutes anyone who says other wise hasn't ran hares 3/4/5 /6 minutes is a good grueller but to be claiming that the top hares are only getting caught at 5/6 minutes on a consistent basis is baloney as fast and up and at then type with plenty of wind isn't letting them get that far along.

So we're all these top dogs past and present all having to kill the best hares constantly for around 6 mins ? even back when they was probably weren't even recording the time add in the factor of the lies that come out the mouths of coursing men those 6 min runs would turn into 15 mins

Plenty good dogs from the past pal I like a dog with a bit of action in out on the field for enjoyment not to watch 6 min runs constantly. @Golyhe says the dogs were better a decade before blondie foxy dancer ect but weren't they dogs the start of the line mongrelly Lurchers put to saluki/ Salukis Lurchers yet the mongrelly lurchers are deemed not royalty enough these days. and as you say those dogs won the forley they had to win there own clubs competitions first then qualify for the forley like a champions league format he then goes on about slipping but didn
