  5. speaking for my own she is packed with stamina, she is 6/8 whippet, 1/8 beddie, 1/8 grey. so there isnt a lot of beddie in her but has thrown more thay way, not only in looks but personality, she will not give in! they are all heart. she is only nearly 2, so too young to have proved her self fully yet not been physically mature long enough and i have held her back slightly. i have not took big numbers with her, manly due to the land i go is very difficult but if anything makes the slighist mistake it is dead!. i have run her along side other cross bred lurchers and run them in to the ground, b

  11. i have a first cross collie grey that i bred myself 8 yars ago, and i have a two year old beddie cross with nothing else in her. from what i have found their is no comparison, for me the beddie cross wins everytime, she has more stamina, more prey drive, more brains believe it or not!, and is alround a much better dog to me, does everything my collie cross has done but much better, and better than any other first cross collie i have seen imho. atb
  12. this is mine she is 6/8 whippet 1/8 grey 1/8 beddie just slightly mor whippet than yours mate, she gives 100% all the time very game little dogs
  13. any rabbit should overmatch a 5 half month old pup. purposly going lamping with a pup that age is a bit daft, you are running a dog that is still growing like mad, its bones and joints are not formed properly, if you dont sicken the dog you run risk of damaging it anyway could cut down how long it will work for later on in life, and then probably be passed around when its got trouble with its joints because its no good for running.
  14. did this about eight years ago, still have a pup out of the litter but is pritty much useless now! not really sharp enough to make good rabbit dogs, not hare dogs either. can catch rabbits when young but lost the speed and agility too young now left with a dog that isnt much use. i would go down the greyhound route though for size give them a better chance. with the whippt you will end up with small heavy dogs. personally wouldnt do it again or even buy that cross, they are very limited. atb.
  15. i gother from guisbrough mate. id like to find out about rest of litter but dont know any 1 who has one.
  16. igot her from guisbrough, i hve tried to get in touch with woman i got her from but since moved. also tried to find others who have pups out of same litter but with no success yet
  17. nice dog looks the same as my bitch. where was she from? i got her from guisbrough bout 19 months ago now, i have tried tracing the breeder for more info or any one wo has one but with no success
  18. This is my beddy cross, she is 6/8 whippet 1/8 greyhound and 1/8 beddy. gives 110% al the time about 12mths old in this picture.
  19. like the sound of this, could be good sport i think.
  20. so do you feed your dogs on a dry, raw or anouther type of diet? i currently feed her on a mixed diet of raw whole rabbit, a complete lurcher dry food and raw knuckle bones as a weekly treat to keep there teeth nice i feed mine with what is known as 'meat greaves', which is basically, dried beef that has lumps of fat mixed in, you have to pour boiling water on it and leave for about an hour, then it is just like lumps of beef and fat which is soft. i then mix this with 2 slices of wholemeal bread (carbohydrates) and a small tin of processed peas in morrowfat, as the dog needs vegetabl
  21. personally i start with the diet of the dog, to get the most out of the dog it has to be right. a dog gets stamina by breaking down the food you are feeding in to glycogen, which when the dog is running is slowly used to give a slow release of energy producing more stamina. the food i feed contins a high amount of animal fat, which produces two and a half more times energy per gram, than protein or carbohydrates. for the exercise i do 3m per day on bike at a steady speed seems to work fine for me. alb
