We were talking about this the other night at my shooting club and someone said the bullets were not lead but some other material.

I have just bought a Bettinsoli Diamond Mk2 as a private sale. Looking forward to getting out with that.

Had my second visit the other day and the FEO brought my FAC / SGC license with him. He's a really nice guy and we had a good chat. Just placed an order for an Anschutz 1416 DKL .22 and should be picking it up Monday. Can't wait! I am also on the lookout for a cheapish second hand 12 bore shotgun if anyone in the Norfolk / Suffolk / London area has one for sale.

Getting FAC altered to allow field shooting?
sy247 replied to Nik_B's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Sorry to hijack the tread. I've been thinking of getting a BP pistol for a while now. Can you use Pyrodex? Is it hard to get a BP certificate? Are the guns fun to shoot or just plain hassle? Any info would be great because the only venture I ever had in to BP guns was a Harrington & Richards muzzle loading shotgun, didn't work out that well to be honest. John Yes you can use Pyrodex instead of black powder. You do not have to have an explosives certificate for it. I believe it is more stable than BP. I am not aware that it is hard to get a BP certificate. I put 2 BP pisto -
Getting FAC altered to allow field shooting?

I am a member of a target club and applied for: .22LR bolt action .22LR semi-auto .357 gallery rifle .36 black powder pistol .44 black powder pistol shotgun This is my first FAC / SCG. I had my interview recently and the FEO said he would bring my license with him when he comes to inspect my cabinet. He indicated there wasn't any issue with what I had applied for. I demonstrated good reason for all calibres - target shooting. Thats about the size of it, but as already said if this is your first FAC application you will need to put a strong case for them to giv -
Excellent news, congratulations. It's a nice feeling after all that waiting and wondering whether it will all go through ok. I've just got to decide what to buy now. I am a member of a target shooting club so am looking for a target rile, gallery rifle and probably a black powder pistol. I have done a bit of clay shooting a few times so am also planning to get a cheap shotgun to do a bit of that. I might have a permission on a golf course coming my way and the FEO said it was cleared for FAC air but not anything bigger. So if that comes off I might apply for a variation. I've got a fee

The FEO was a really good bloke and we had a good chat. He said he would bring my FAC and SGC with him when he comes back to check my cabinet. Out with the drill this weekend then!

Norfolk police received my application a month ago and the cheque was cashed a week later. I have heard nothing since. I am starting to wonder whether there is a problem. Hopefully they are just busy. Would it be ok to give them a call and see what is happening or is this not advisable?

Surely they dont have to be notified about a caution as the form only asks for convictions , so if you do not mention one you cannot be accused of hiding anything as they dont ask for it. I believe that legally a caution is classed as a conviction because you have accepted responsibility. I might be wrong...

I ticked the 'No' to convictions box but wrote a note in the details box to say I had an SP30 in 2003. I didn't think was was a conviction as such but thought I should mention it. I hope I did this right. I am actually applying for rifles and black powder pistols for target shooting so there is some larger stuff. .357 / .38 / .38 SP for gallery rifle. But I might have a shoot coming up on a golf course so I want to speak to the FEO about what I would need to do to be able to use .22LR for that. I have been a club memeber for a year and will get a good reference from the club secretary if t

Oh well, fingers crossed then. I have never been convicted of an offence (apart form SP30 speeding 7 years ago) or arrested so I should be ok.

I applied for my FAC and S/G certificate about a week ago. I noticed that the cheque has been cashed. Is this to be taken as a good sign or do they just cash them anyway?
