  5. its better than having a horse that cant pull the cart...
  6. i aint there all the time to oversee things and even if i was it still wouldnt turn out any good he is at that age were he wants to catch stuff and i dont think a pup is the way to go it will end up a bag of shit. when he had learnt and had experience and the bug has bitten then he will be ready for a pup
  7. i really dont think he could do it with school and that and i dont want him getting down harted and giving up before he even gets to work the dog properly, i think one ready to go would be the best for him if i am honest
  8. right lads i was wondeing if anyone could help me out i am after a dog for my little brother who is (15), He wants to get into the lurcher game i dont want anything to big for him really this will be the only dog he has it will be used to bushing and lamping mostly, Now i dont want him to have a pup because he is still to young to bring a lurcher on etc. But i no that buy buying a dog ready to start working you are buying someones bad habbits but as its his first dog i am not after a wold beater just something decent enough to bad some bunnies and give 100% and keep the lad on the right track
  9. with books, weekly and monthly publications aswell as the net and the fact it can have a status element since the ban i would have though so so just for you dranny thats a yes mate

  13. i suppose you could just tape the b*****d
  14. that would depend on what your using at the minute? it would indeed paulus
  15. what lamp have you got currently??
  16. you can use a dog for bushing, fereting etc.. and it will come back as soon as the lamps off just takes time to no whats expected of him or her
  17. lol how i learnt was to shoot close cans and just step back a few steps i stil mis pleany though lol i can hit a can from 15 - 20 yards quite regular but when it comes to a sitter 5 yards away i jack cant hit game for shit awaiting some 12mm ball bearings at the moment as i orderd 9mm but too small for game
  18. if my dog dont get them i am f****d as i couldnt hit a cows arse from 3 foot away with a catty
  19. your all going to get f****d by the long dick of paulus, he can smell a thread like this a country mile away
  20. i can only speak about what u have owned. my dog had long nights on the lamp every week and i never had a problem with her wind at all. she had a few knocks here and there but no worse that some of my mates other crosses and as it happens i no a few lads that used to run these crosses on the fens and accounted for there fair share. you dont need a saluki cross to catch hares.......
  21. love the glasshouse a really nice place i did enjoy the farm to be honest
  22. no one mentioned hares or the fens a saluki cross is going to be better on ground like the fens, i aint saying that they will run ground like the fens all day what i was saying is for lamping rabbits run after run hares etc on the lamp she had plenty of wind enough to last all night but if your going for daytime hares on ground like the fens 9 times out of 10 a saluki would be a better just my opinion
