  2. get used to them mate bull x for you unfortunately, fair play with putting that other dog right mate admire you for that
  3. yes i think your bang on there mate suppose the collie trait in the dogs aides them to work at distance like that dont know just saying, although sure many a cross could do it
  4. not very often as i said they were backing off
  5. il be honest iv only ever lamped them(pre-ban obviously)even when walking them out during the day mine have not actively hunted up for them which imo is the making of a good daytime fox dog,not just relying on a terrier for a bolt i mean
  6. i watched that one recently, certainly not the best dogs on foxes by any means but the feckers must have been fit not seen a great deal of dogs on fox but like you say they must have to be fit to hunt up chase catch and kill i watched it the other day also there was a bit in that when they had a fox down in some long grass when it faced them up it looked on the film like it jumped toward the dogs and they backed off couple times till one went in on the back end before the other joined in,but yes fit none the less

  9. cant think of anything better to be honest mate, done it myself many times over the years all seemed to do the dog the world of good, just dont under estimate a winter bunny and make sure the pup is fit and strong enough to deal with it you wont go far wrong, jmo of course
  10. looks like a sports version lol very nice mate
  11. nope,i definately like my version better even though your right
  12. there was me thinking oh no here we go again That was the before shot watchman, you should see the after shot cant see the problem with thinning out a few cock birds this time of the year, fecking things are only full of worm, disease, bully and/or take poult away from the release pens etc. to be fair mate its just a couple cock birds hardly warrents pages and pages of shite about it,fecking site runs on overkill at times

  19. your not wrong thats exactly what they said to me when i questioned it,or "iv just allways done that for my dogs, dont know why really"
  20. very nice that mate, how old is she
  21. a hungry dog is a responsive dog,,i dont leave food down,,i believe a lot of good traits piggyback on hunger, more eager, easier motivated, etc,,it causes a want in a dog makes it keener to work with , takes my take on it bud, best of luck with the new upstart,, agree entirely, and thanks
  22. i dont ever leave grub out for the dogs,no matter if you feed once or twice a day mine clear their bowls immediately, nothing worse than a dog picking at grub left out on a daily basis if you ask me,not only that probably pick all day then eat their fill just before your wanting a night out. i know a few lads that leave bowls of dry food out throughout the day but even if im bringing on a pup it gets fed when i say and if it doent eat it i remove the grub there and then just seems to work for me and encourages good feeding i believe, not saying i dont leave bones out thats different so do any
