  1. carlos hathcock now that would be cool ive seen hin interveiws on youtube badass! ohh and defo luke kelly!
  2. If you read the OP properly, you will see that the poster is worried about non-targets, as they know they are in the area. A snare in this situation would be totally irresponsible, and it is very poor to advise using them in this case. Cage trapping would allow for any non-targets caught to be released unharmed. Snares are great in the right circumstances, but not in this case. if i read right every one on this thread is tiptoeing around badgers! a snare if it is well set WILL NOT catch badgers as they will pass under it dogs however will. also if you have a snare with charli
  3. good result, two funny looking rabbits their
  4. hate to nit pick but i always belived a huntsman had a pack? any how a good freind of mine and me had 7 in one day between two dogs. or two realy kick a hornets nest 121 last year on a driven hare day and 31 in longnets when the maiz was cut
  5. Another Nugget Removed... Please report these idiots using the report post option and I'll get them banned if possible.... They offer nothing to the forum or hunting in any form. well said sir, buy that man a pint someone!
  6. and where i come fron their is a name for people like you well two names realy "vermin" and "saw him in the back of the police car"! thats if the keepers dont get you first
  7. sorry for the wait use a silicone based shaveing soap not normal cream froma tin it helps the razor slide better also many people say use a slight heel to point movement when shaveing ie the end moves more than the handle end like a clock face. but this will leave heel scratches pull the blade as streight down as you can any lateral movement WILL end up as a cut.
  8. "clart up" now theirs a nice word you dont hear out of cumbria, god bless us
  9. yes its in pershire about 6 miles north of dunblane is their any one interested?

  12. well gents ime trying to get 6 guns together or a walked up day the lads i normaly go with have all bailed out on me. its a mixed do with almost every game bird possible (not grouse thou) it will be about 10 birds to the gun so 6 guns=60 ish birds they will probly charged at £15 a bird but their is a very good chance i can get the price down. it was £18 a bird but ive mates rates on this place. its a fully keeper`d shoot and their is plenty of birds if ya all can shoot well theirs no reason why the bag cant be made, dogs are welcome and a date has yet to be set their is a b&b about 1mil

  14. mate have you seen the state of my mothering law? i recomend gas mark 3 for 20 mins per lb lol
  15. like he said 78% is bloody good we got 58% on avrage we just use hoppers ut whisle on 2 drives and they fizzle out after 2-3 goes at them whsle feeding is ok if the birds are hungry and you can feed them twice a day and can feed them every day!
  16. yeh it can be like that i think they stay in the thick woods to keep warm. but we have had a lot of snow for a while so their hungry and dont have much choice. crows are realy easey to bad in the snow too! just wait out over a bait with the rifle and job done
  17. if you know your ground well and its foxes then you can time it to get in with them but if not just go out and call or wait in a good place bait will work but keep a eye on the wind. and downwind to they do come this way to many people sit with their back down wind and think because they will smell you its no worth keeping a eye on the area. i go from 9.30 onwards or if its not to cold all night! a good sleeping bag and a bale stack and your good to go
  18. if i ahd the room i would love them we have 2000ah of christams trees woods and field i think hounds would be just the ticket heare. all the best bud hope they get good homes
  19. ahh to true i found that them who talk things up are the armchair hunters for shure! a good working partner weather its shooting digging lamping or fishing is hard to come by
  20. evening all ive just come in from fox calling in the moonlight we have a good foot of snow hear with a full moon and no cloud(ish) so i went for a look about to se if i could call a fox thats been makeing trouble in one of the drives. i have got a new swaro scope so i could make out hares at 200yard! any how i sat on a hill top between two woods with a fence and ditch runing between them this is a good place for foxes ive shot them hear before 20mins of calling, and i could see a blob comeing up the wood edge a look thru the scope and i was a fox about 150yard out i was gona wait untill it got
  21. gonna have to disagree their bud, each gun is diffrent in its accuracy shure the nut on the but needs to ring the accuracy out of it. i had a parker hale 243 and it would only group 2inch with any one shooting it, i now use a cz.223 and get clover leaf groups. oh and yes 17hmr are slightly more consistent with accuracy than .22 you can on a still day thump rabbits and critters out to 200-250 that would be hard to do with a 22 for shure
