perthshire keeper replied to BIGLURKS's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
i run a LOT of nets that moles and fire wood keep my "busy" ive just got in from doing mine ive got 500m out 300 of that is 50mesh deep 4.3/4 inch multi mono and the other is 200m or trammel for the turbot and sole. alan has a better way with words than me so i will leave the majority of advice to him but. for me i use any thing for anchors from leaf springs to fishboxes but most are 19 inch squares of ply or 2ft lenghts of scaffholding boards burried in the sand as deep as i can get them.. end achors are in deep but along the lengh are not so deep i have 50 odd anchors in on my beach an -

we talk about the same thing a lot round us,,well almost the same thing ;ie derrick bird. he was goind thru my area shooting people just like that. he killed 3 of my freinds one a very close freind if i had been comeing home from shooting and seen him doing his deeds...then i would have shot him, not sure if i would have shot him in the arm or leg or fully zapped him with a 55gr balistic tip but i would have. same goes for the question asked if i seen a single person or armed group doing a hit then i would do what was required to stop them. and being blunt any one with half a set of balls

speaking from experiences, their is VERY VERY Few things that will ruin a drive or drives or even clear birds from a large area of land like a gos.... like all birds of prey its never so much the killing of the birds that is the problme thou it can be! its the scare factor. even seen a cover of partriges look up a plane passing thousands of feet over head? or run for cover at the same thing...how is a bird with such a inbuilt fear of flying things going to handle being mobbed and "buzzed" by something as well adapted to killing as a gos

After Planet Earth Loses Energy And Explodes
perthshire keeper replied to AXUM's topic in General Talk
Thought about looking at that, although I don't drink, just for the fun of doing it. Heard it's easy to make yourself really ill though, even blind. its something to do with the ethanol in it i think a friend of my uncles makes it and he said its dodgy gear. Id like to try some proper stuff though not something some arsehole made in his shed depending on your running temp and batch it will be the first 5 or 12% of produce...called the devils dram. this is normaly thrown onto the still fire for good luck. its drinkable and only in large amounts is dangerous but i wouldent recomend it you -

Oooooh,..a bit awkward, for you ?,......maybe. lolDon't take this the wrong way Pk but I don't think you will be any competition to the master moleman granda Bob Merrin why would that be? i work the same number of traps as him, have roughly the same percentage as him.on foot as he dose and i work ground he dosent and he works ground he has had for years? gradad bob aside for a moment but........ theirs only so much better a GOOD mole catcher can be to the next one. their the same moles in the same runs with the same traps and yes their is the odd trick and tweak to it but once your good -

Charging For Stolen Traps
perthshire keeper replied to perthshire keeper's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
if ime on a footpath or some where i know will be walked on i wont mark but ime running over 100 traps in heavy infested fields and my mind cant keep on with them all! a few hils in a field then its ok but not big jobs. and this spot is as far from any where as possible! the main point is the quad tracks from trap site to trap site to trap site points firmly at eather a neighbouring farmer ( no in this case as i trap for all them too) or the lad on the fencing team! the markers were all just pulled out and laying about where they were i suspect they were used ot set the traps off af -
Charging For Stolen Traps
perthshire keeper replied to perthshire keeper's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
well....their is a fenceing team working on the farm next door (that i also trap on) but used a field on the far side of the road belonging to the client to get to the job...2 days back the lad (about my age) about my age stopped by the gate and said hi as i was setting a trap, him being a ag worker i thought nowt of it and kept working away now this job is up croasdale back in the arse end of no-where and he was the only person to see me... that and their is quad tracks going from trap to trap in the fecking field! and the client dosent take his quad onto thease fields because its 2mile from
