  1. good little clip that sjm. its one of the few animals i aint had the old whitey.
  2. 6 or seven yards. some lads like to have them 5 , again just personal choise. the more poles you have the better the top line stays up. the down size is the added weight and space in a basket
  3. take it out side and do it, on a field when theres no wind, as your going to be ocupied for about 3 hours. dont like the look of those poles , all those hook thing will get cought on your mesh. GET RID OF THEM. with any luck the top and bottom meshes may have some line through them already. if this is the case , just tie your running lines to one end , and pull it through. do this both top and bottom. that bit you can do indoors in a couple of mins. then take it on a field anchor the running lines with a peg and pull your net along to both ends. at this point i set it up like
  4. dachound , great dane, and some of the american huonds have merles, i think there called catahola or summat like that african wild dogs look like merle also

    THE BIG ONE

Hatton to win, i think he has what it takes. but let me just say this. hes in the US and has to be very convincing. remember Haggler v lenard back in 87 . Haggler comming forward all the time knocking lenard around, lenard on the back foot picking lovly looking punches but with no venom. what happend the judges gave it lenard. he was the flashy one, who used the ring , who had the big mouth and was well liked. but for me lenard wone almost evry round. GOT TO BE CONVINCING TO WIN OVER THERE

  10. just been reading this thread. liked nobby answer about the releasing them, but why go to all that trouble. lets face it the only way anybody knows they have moles is because of the hills. have you lot worked it out yet. all you need is a bucket of soil
  11. YOU GOT TO PERFECT THE HEEL COMAND MATE. ONCE THEY HAVE LERNT THAT YOU CAN WORK THEM WITH OUT A SLIP
  12. I HAVE HAD DIESEL ON MY TRAPS BEFOR MATE AND THEY STILL KILLED MOLES. DONT GET ME WRONG I WOULDN'T RECOMED IT BUT THEY STILL KILLED, SO DONT DESPAIR
  13. a keeper i worked with about 20 year ago , used to do it with a tall paterdale he had. he said he had as many as 10 in a single night
  14. im so glad there are more OZY's on here now, as next time im out there i will be inviting my self along on a hunt with you guys. at the same time as teaching you proper english, moaning like a pomm, and showing you how to drink
  15. i will answer your question ALLGAME. about bull crosses and not staghounds. well actualy we do yous stags, it just that we call them lurchers, even bull crosses are still concidered lurchers. our lurchers come in a ranges of shapes and sizes , where as your stags are on the hole , tall and lean like deer/grey, i know theres a few other breeds in some strains, but that to us is still a lurcher. its just you lot down there dont know how to speak the queens english
  16. the mouse is an intersting catch, and one that is hard to explain as the you would think it was to small to trigger the trap, at the same time as being far enough a way to be cought. chalkwarren had one in his trap on the body grip trap video. well heres my theory, and its only a theory. do you think a mouse's tail is enough to trigger the trap , the mouse using it almost prehensile like a monkey, pulling on the trigger wires.
  17. whilst those cubys are great, to me its just another 6 or 7 £ i dont need to spend. all you need is some sheets of wire mesh, laid flat taking up no space at all, a bit of bailer twine forming a loop tied through them all along edge and easy to carry. i use the stuff thats only as thik as rabbit fencing but is rectangle about 1/2 in by 1 inch. by the way secaturs( spelling) for pruning make great cutters for this wire . you can cut your slots in on the job. find a likly set, bend your wire over the trap then just desgise it with bits of log, bark , or what ever you can find
  18. with regard to missing the pan on the fenn in a tunnel, wouldn't a small jump stick set at the right distance from the trap sort that problem . or a thin stick that will break easy, set above and acoss the inside of the tunnel, so the mink has to duck under. cow parsly would be good as its brittle but thik.
  19. I LIKED HIS ARTICLES BACK THEN , THERE WERE LOTS OF INTERSTING FELLAS WRITING IN THE MAG BACK THEN. THE DOG WAS CALLED FIELDER, AND I THINK WAS 1/4 BEDY X 3/4 WHIPPET
  20. the title of this thread thrown me slightly , i was under the impresion that it meant pure breeds , not cross breeds.
  21. i would just like to add somthing here about Woodgas bag. it must have been incredble hard work . i dont mean carrying them or owt , but the net setting and running to take them out of nets ect. when me and rambo did 73 last year me legs and back were killing the day after as we were on a small banking. any way good old pics there., cant belive somone tried to count them
  22. i always thought N.B.H.K WAS FIMED FROM SEPTEMBER THROUGH TILL MARCH, BUT NOT SUMMER. MAYBE BAZ CAN PUT US STRAIGHT ON THIS
