  1. just as well , as know one would want to give you one. i have put pics on here of my bitch ferreting and so have others of there saluki crosses doing well with obediance, but of course you cant educate some people, can ya. my dog wont run a lure at gamefair, but yours will. whos is the most inteligent? for a man that puts up some good posts about hunting, you dont half let your self down somtimes. ok tomo i accept had to many last night and said a couple of things i shouldnt of done but i havnt seen a saluki cross that means 50% plus that i would want in my kennel, dont forget i
  2. why make work for your self , just poison them . if there living inside the holow walls put the poison there. if there are earth burrows , bait there as well.
  3. good to see the little dog settled in and doing well mark what have you been drinking

  6. screw it to a bit of board a little bit longer than the trap, then drill a hole at the top and bottom of the board. of course its handy to have a cordless with you. then you can screw it in place on trees fences or whatever. other than that like you a wedge it in place in trees ect . i also have in my trapping kit that thin green wire you get from garden centres. i thread this through the trap and hold in place with this somtimes. hope thios helps TOMO
  7. what i find intersting is that this farmer actualy takes his dog a walk, all the one i know never bother, the dogs are just left to wander round the farm unless there working.
  8. hers a tip, dont do it if your not getting paid for it and as zig zag said , 6 traps aint a lot.
  9. well some of us do keep saluki types and have been out with a good many others merrihunter, and lets be honest here do any of your dogs look like that. the answer is NO. THE OTHER THING IS ABOVE THE PHOTO , HE WROTE , " THIS DO OOZES POWER" DOES IT FECK .
  10. yes it can get like that , i well remember just having 1 fert in a money bag in one coat pocket, and a dozen nets in the other, travling nice and light. just now and then i still do this today
  11. why get her spayed, just keep her a way from dogs when she breaks down . remember it will be at least 1 week after she breaks down befor she becomes fertile. as for bitches coming in season , it can happen at any time from 6 month onwards, i have a bitch here thats 2 1/2 year old and still has never come in season. so dont be worrying about a bitch coming in season.
  12. why take the risk , just breed the siver ( if its a good worker) to an albino or a light coloured polcat there will still be some sivers in the litter
  13. like i said open park land , with warrens out in the open. as for loosing ferrets, dont wory , the problem is most folk today havent spent half an hour out in the darkness with out a lamp. belive you me its very light under the full moon
  14. wasn't there a thread on here about how those navara's engins all go bang after 000 miles
  15. i dont think splodge and fettle have had a litter together befor, but if you mean how has any pup from either parant turned out. i can answer that easy. I HAVE KNOW IDEA so supose its a stab in the dark as far as im concerned, how ever both parants have proved how good they were, so its stab in the dark in the right direction.
  16. i also have a pup out this litter, although its not here yet, will be picking it up next week
  17. fettle has just had her 3rd litter and is 8 year old, and there were only 4 pups. remember as dogs get older they usualy start to have smaller litters
  18. my mate has just got fettal hes gonna breed out of her.show us a pic of ya pup mate who is your mate caspa. fettle just had a litter 12 week ago. when does he plan to breed from her.

    goat cull

you and i definatly know the same people , and trod the same land jukler i remember tha lads going to melton cattle market, for a goats , butchering it , and selling it as venison round the pubs for those that like spicy food , look up west indian curried goat on internet . do it from scratch well worth the efort
  20. use an old out of fasion one, or go to oxfam, charity shops, jumble sales. you may even be lucky enough to get a tweed one
  21. as for those army great coats, tried one years ago to big to heavy and to much flapping round your legs. hated it. but if it works for you thats all that matters
  22. we always used to wear an old siut jacket or sports jacket, buttons off ,replased with lases. the top left hand breast pocket had a slit cut in the bottom. then your pegs would just go in through there. and would just go down inside the linning , with a few inches sticking out so you can pull them out easy
  23. it was me that answered that other post about night time ferreting. all the young bucks were saying its no good , waste of time. of course easy to say when you have never done it. night ferreting has been going on for hundreds of years and aint sommat new that warrener did on his film or brinded wrote about in a mag . i have done it countless times in the past , and you can do it on those nights you would otherwise not be out, also done it in places where there is light polution, next to a power station was another faveroute, never used bells. get out there and give it a go
  24. maybe you should have put a better pic up , they say if you aint got somthing nice to say dont say owt. but, that dog dont ooz power in my mind . to be honest it looks rather thin around the back legs. like i say its probly a bad pic, and like i said on the previouse post , i have not against afgan crosses . i have herd of a few that can knock hares down no probs
  25. i have herd about a few afgan/grey cosses that have perfomed very well on the coursing field
