good point, most butchers+game dealers [dont] want [dog] rabbits Maybe [zoo's ,birds -prey lads]. Regards the dogs, they still done great to get the ton. And for any lurcher to catch [50] rabbits is brill, but lets not forget where they were caught, there is lot to go at . As ive said before [20] runs up there, is alot easy than [10] runs down here , ive done both fact. local up north dead right BIRD there are harder places to catch rabbits, those flat arable land in the midlands is hard work very fast running ground

i have no plans to EVER breed of TARA , she has some good points of course , but there are one or two faults , that i dont like . so no breeding plans here, on the flip side i think GINNY would well be worth a pup. and if i know andy half the litter would be given to mates, maybee sell just a few. my own litter half were given away only sold a few to strangers, who now will be mates, good guys

eerr you couldn't have looked very hard whin, one is a pure rabbiter , but the other dog is all coursing bred out of captin , and on one side TOR OF DARTMORE remember that name , your always banging on about it its funny how , you think that the lines of coursing dogs still bred true , "merlin eve" ect. but dont belive that a lamping type dog can still throw out dogs of the same type. you should have a look at all the other dogs that had the minshaw name whin. and another thing, you mention not the types you remember, blue , rambo ect. when the feck did you see them. only in a

just plenty of work, to keep them fit, and you will notice most weeks we have uped the numbers , so the dogs get a little extra. in the summer i had some very good advise from a member about food and a type of exercize to get her fitter , i had to change it slightly , because my dog wont retrive a ball, but by and large , it was his advise that got her even fitter at the beginig of the season.

feck doing it again im still boloxed yes theres a few places i have spied, that may well warrent a look, but there would have to be lots of things on our favour

never used one mate,

in all honesty not alot of misses, if they did miss alot then we wouldn't have been able to catch as many. but its a tuff question because you dont usually remember the misses. there were two rabbits that Tara cought but they got away, didnt quite have the right grip at the stike , rabbits droped and through the fence. havent seen her do that for a long time, but thats hunting .
-
do you mean whats the catch ratio , how many they miss , to how many they catch?? or do you mean how many do i normaly catch?????

I to have heard these storys a friend of mine went out with BLUE a few times. He told me it took Sixty odd off two fields one night an the night was very young. Is ASD still tryin to breed the old minshaw type dogs?. I have seen a few of so called Minshaw dogs an they look un related when you see pictures of the older dogs, apart from asd JACK. . a tuff question for me to answer, realy ASD should . but in a nutshel he is trying to keep the type/family going, hes not alone of course, there,s a few others involved with these types , i myself have mated my coursing type to his dog .

250 mile round trip ffor me, but i also go local to me and only travel a few miles

not at all, all these weeks i been putting posts up have been on these difrent bits of land, somtimes taking a difent rute, or missing a farm out , but by and large there lamped regular and not just by me the only virgins were the ones in that field we droped on, incedently i have never lamped that field in all the years i have been going there. a few more fields like that and who knows !!!!!!!!

just answered this on moochers il paste up what i think, just my opinion of course can of worms time :hideingbhindcurtian: i knew someone would ask this. i have always belived it HAS been done by a few fellows. but YES max i think it can............................. BUT there has to be lots of things in the dogs favour. i mentioned that field we took 20 off , in all honesty they were very easy rabbits , i had at least 6 of those out the seat with the other 4 only getting a few yards. and andy had similar. that was one field , emagin 10 or 15 fields with similar green rabb

its not so much as the numbers are important, if you look at a thread i did at the weekend i got 5 local for a quik half hour spin. wich i enjoyed very much but if im on a good spot with half decant weather, then i like to push the dogs that bit more, and see what there capable of, in fact if you take it a step farther, we all want numbers when it comes to lurchers all the famouse dogs in what ever field are known because of the game they kill, all the coursing boys want dogs that concstantly put big scores in the bag 3 from 3 , 5 from 5 ect, nobody goes for a dog who's parants put

to be honest i think they both could have gone on, in particular Andys/ginnyspiners dog GINNY, she certainly has more staminar than Tara. Tara on the other hand realy like's the driving thing , feck knows why, perhaps she likes the extra light from the headlights or just a difrent chalenge. Andys dog had also been out in the day hunting and the previouse couple of nights. poor dog never see's its bed, coss ginnyspinner is relentless with her , and has her at peek fitness

How tired am I lol: , what a long shift we just did. mat up with Andy superdogs and Hare hunter, and we started lamping at 9 pm. there was a good breeze blowing , but it was a little light at times , and very mild. to warm in fact early on. after the first bit and back to the car we had 26 rabbits 13 each in a hour and half. they had been dunked in the river a few times to cool off , and to be honest we didn't think a monster bag was on the cards with the heat. after a quik drink at the car, we moved on and the bag grew steadily, untill we got to this little field. i had walked i
