SON HOW OLD YOU THINK I AM. re read the post fella , i told you what we used to do, and im not the only one, it was a widly used practice in the old days. in fact the warrener filmed a bit of it on one of his old films, im not particualy a fan of his, but it is there on film not only did the ferrets work at night, but being on parkland, other tasty criters would often walk past , and the lurcher could do her job without the lamp always a bonus

  11. andy has the irish lads over for a few days, so we all had a look out last night on one of my estates we split up to make it easier, andy went with the paddys, and there two dogs, and Ginny spiner came with me in the truck because the lads arrived an hour late i already had 13 , of one of my other small bits of land. me and hh started on the flat bottom fields with him stood out the sunroof with the lamp and Tara and Visa running along side. there were decant numbers of rabbits on the bottom fields and the bag grew staedily. once we finished these field we went for a sneak round

  16. Your wrong there, a lot of lamping dogs dont pull up at fences, hedges, walls depending on what there chasing they go over the top depends how there trained. Mine are also expected to jump out the motor and go over fences, walls when the slipped from the roadside. of course joe , big game agreed, but i was refering to rabbits.
  17. oh yes , i remember what your reffering to, and your correct. i had forgot that belive it or not..... but she got stuck in an electric fence for 20 seconds or so, and it did wreck her head for a long time, on rabbits. this was 3 year ago now. not long after the incedent, i went to OZ for the winter , when i came back she started working again.. she does NOT pull up though at fences, in the day, but of course lamping is difrent like most lamping dogs will pull up at a hedge or fence.
  18. I have driven the length of france 4 times, and was suprised by the sheer lack of rabbits, apart from seeing a few near cherborg in northan france, i never saw a single rabbit in all those jurneys, even at night you would think you would see them at the side of the road, but nothing. im shure there must be some somwhere, i belive hares to be in better numbers and roe deer heres a link from last year a rabbit plague in north east france http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/worl...icle3785042.ece the linc dont work
  19. I remember reading something about visa stoping at fences I may be wrong? yes they dont all make the grade but I cull if there not up to the job. Why go to a lamping dog for pups if your dog is up to the job why not go back to something with the same lines? wrong again joe, why you dragging me in this argument, i love to lamp, and like the day , and dont get involved with the silly day night thing and hares. as for why i used jack, , simple answer mate, i wasn't after an out and out coursing dog . if i was i would have lined Visa to a coursing dog. i lined jack because i bel
